Dylan.

I sat on my bed in this tiny apartment. My mom and I have lived her since I was 5. When her and my dad broke up. I haven't saw him since. Mom says he wants nothing to do with me. Which really hurts considering how close we were before it happened. Everything happens for a reason though.

I was listening to run and go by twenty one pilots while waiting for my mom to get home. Praying it would be soon because I'm hungry.

I heard the door unlock and ran out of the room to see my mom with hands full of groceries.

"Mom?! Are feeling okay? You never get groceries!" I said shocked.

"Oh baby I know. I just invited the new neighbors over for dinner."

"You don't know how to cook." I said blankly.

"Yea. I was hoping you could make that cheesy penne pasta or baked rigatoni or italian sausage rigatoni with butter sause. Ooo how about you're fettuccine roasted in pepper sause?" She rambled on.

"Mom we both know the way I make my fettucine will burn their tongues off." I laughed.

"And I'll make my baked rigatoni. Just one question. Why did you invite them over? Usually When families move in you get upset because 'more people'." I finished

"To be completely honest they have a son your age. I just want you to meet some one. Your always out doing stuff with Molly and Bella, but its boring stuff. I want you to have adventure baby."

"Mom. Please quit playing match maker. I love you, but its too much. I don't need anyone. I'm 18, I need to focus on school."

"Dylan you have plenty of time to work hard you are going to ve doing it for the rest of your life. You need to have fun. I want you to live your life to the fullest."

"I understand that mom, but school comes first." I said. I swear sometimes it feels like I'm the mom. I know its just because she cares but this is the 3rd guy she has tried to set me up with this month.

I ran to my room to get dressed first just incase I happen to like this guy.

*-*
I started mixing all the ingredients when the doorbell went off. How my mom thinks we have enough room for another family in this apartment wows me.

I walked to the door and opened it to reveal Luke Hemmings. He has been going to my school since 8th grade and he is a complete jerk. I looked to his left and saw an older woman.

"Hi you must be the new neighbors. I'm Dylan." I said welcoming them in.

"I'm Liz and this is my son Luke."

"Isn't Dylan a boys name?" Luke asked.

"No. It's unisex." I said with a smile.

"Oh." He said eyeing me up and down.

"Well take a seat and I'll just go get my mom." I said before walking down the hall to my moms room. I opened the door to see her struggling with her dress zipper.

"Here I'll get it." I said walking over and zipping up the dress with ease.

"Okay they're here. I am still making dinner though so keep them out of the way." I said smiling as we walked out of her room.

I walked into the kitchen, and started shredding cheese, when Luke walked in a smirk on his face.

"What are you smirking about?"

"Oh your mom just showed me a picture of you in the bath tub."

"Funny, there are no pictures of me in the bath tub. My mom was also never really into saving pictures. There is only one baby picture of me, and its of me on a ferris wheel when I was four so technically not even a baby."
