I the human

The sky is dark and my body cold,

This heart is caged and soul sold,

The walls surrounding me are made of gold,

Trapping me in every lie ever told.

I have become a monster and an animal,

Eating myself from inside like a cannibal,

Tied to a golden post with silver ropes,

With nothing holding up these hopes.

All the love is misplaced and lost,

With nothing to pay the cost,

Hands filled with jewels and gems,

Standing alone, without any friends.

It's raining and there are no drops,

The skin is dry and nothing stops,

Darkness is my friend and loneliness my coat,

All left is mangled ink of words I wrote,

Tied to this throne of dust,

Wearing a crown worn by rust,

No one around to speak or trust,

Drowned in pleonexia and it's lust.

Show me a forest with green trees,

Filled with breeze and buzzing bees,

Where the greed doesn't make me sneeze,

Do this before, I am lost and forgotten, please.

This is no poem or a story told,

Nor of a man chasing fools gold,

It is off, I the human, wrecked and lost,

Wake me before nothing is left to be told.
