•Maddy's POV
"I'm coming, Mrs Macready!"
I walked down the stairs and smiled at the older woman.
"Yes?"
Mrs Macready nodded at my clothes.
"I'm going to pick up the Pevensie children."
I nodded and smiled.
"Alright, then I'll make pie for them."
Macready nodded.
"Good idea. See you in a bit, Madison."
I waved and went to make apple pie, my favourite.
I heard carriage stopping in front of a house and then front door opening. I put the pie on counter and walked to meet my new company.
Mrs Macready smiled as she saw me.
"Ah, Madison. You can show them around. Kids, this is Madison. She is professor's granddaughter."
Mrs Macready walked away and I smiled at my new friends.
"Hi, I'm Maddy."
Tall blonde boy smiled at me.
"I'm Peter. These are my siblings, Susan, Edmund and Lucy."
Lucy smiled at me and I returned the smile.
"You are so pretty."
I giggled and felt my cheeks going pink.
"Me? Look at you. You are so beautiful."
Lucy giggled and Peter smiled at me. I motion for them to follow me.
"There are some rules. No running in the house, no disturbing a professor and no touching of historical artifacts."
The siblings nodded. I showed the girls to their room first.
"My room is across from yours, if you need anything. Be in the kitchen in 20 minutes for dinner."
Then I showed the boys to their room. Before Peter went in, he smiled at me.
"Thank you, Maddy."
I nodded and felt myself blush under his gaze.
"Of course."
I was in the kitchen, usually I eat alone because Mrs Macready and professor eat in their rooms but now I have company. Four siblings walked in and sat down.
Susan looked at me.
"Do you need help, Maddy?"
I smiled at her gently.
"No, thank you, Susan. You are guest here."
I put pie in front of them and sat at my place.
"Enjoy."
Lucy was first to try and she squealed.
"It's the best pie ever, Maddy."
I giggled at her excited face.
"Thank you, Lucy."
Peter smiled at me.
"It's wonderful."
I smiled and looked down avoiding his gaze.
"Thank you."
Susan smiled.
"You are really good cook. Maybe you can teach me sometime."
I nodded politely.
"Of course, I would love to."
After dinner, I went to check on Pevensies. I walked into Lucy's and Susan's room and all of them were there.
"I just came to see how is everything."
Lucy sighed.
"These blankets are itchy."
I sighed and sat next to her.
"Lucy, wars don't last forever. You are going to be home before you say biscuit."
Lucy giggled lightly at my words.
Edmund scoffed.
"If it's still there."
I smiled sadly.
"Don't worry, Ed."
Susan sighed.
"Shouldn't you already be in bed?"
Edmund huffed.
"Yes, mom."
Peter glared.
"Ed!"
Edmund looked down at his hands.
"Sorry."
I smiled gently.
"Ed, you are going to be home soon. As long as you are here, we're going to have fun."
Lucy grinned hugely and I smiled back.
"Thanks, Maddy."
I stood up and waved to them. Peter stood up to walk me to the door.
"Thank you for this, Maddy. I don't know what to do in these kind of situations."
I smiled.
"Don't worry about it. I love kids. Lucy and Edmund are already like siblings to me."
Peter nodded.
"Goodnight, Maddy."
"Goodnight, Peter."
