Kaia glanced at her watch and let a sigh escape from her mouth. She couldn't stop tapping her right leg while eating her breakfast. Millions of thoughts crept in her head, and she couldn't shake them off. Her mother noticed her nervous state and couldn't help but pity her.

"You will be okay, honey," her mother assured.

Kaia simply rolled her eyes and left the room without saying any word. She grabbed her backpack and headed to her new high school. A sickly feeling grew in her stomach as she walked to school. She clenched her stomach and hoped that it would go away before she reached the school office.

Once she reached the campus, she could feel eyes on her, but she brushed it off because she was used to it. She entered the office, and the secretary greeted her with a warm smile. She forced herself to smile and then noticed a woman sitting across the secretary's desk. She approached her, and then the woman took notice of her presence.

"Are you Kaia Collura?" the woman asked.

Kaia simply nodded her head, and the woman grinned and introduced herself as Ms. Mora. Kaia grabbed her schedule that she printed off last night to avoid some potential troubles with the secretary. Ms. Mora snapped a picture of her schedule with her phone, so she would know Kaia's schedule. They walked in silence to the first period which was AP Government, and Kaia opened the door and looked back to make sure that Ms. Mora came in.

The teacher was sitting at her desk, and when she heard the door open, she stood up and beamed, "You must be the new student. I am Mrs. Jones, and you can pick a seat and just make yourself comfortable."

Ms. Mora interpreted what Mrs. Jones said, and then Kaia skimmed around the room and spotted a seat in the corner that would kinda allow her to be apart from the class. She sat down quietly while the rest of the class gawked at Ms. Mora and her. This didn't bother Kaia much because she was already used to it. Ms. Mora walked to the front of the classroom and waited for the teacher to start the class.

Like she predicted, the day flew by, and students stared at her as she walked in hallways, but she pretended that she didn't notice it to save them from embarrassment. However, she hoped that this would die out soon.

She started to hum quietly as she walked home, and once she opened the door, Lucky greeted her with a sloppy kiss. Finally, her lips broke into a smile and reached her to give her a tight hug. Lucky followed her to the kitchen, and Kaia knew that the dog only wanted to have some of whatever she would have for snack. She opened the refrigerator and spotted the last container of tapioca pudding. Her brother would kill her for eating the last one, but she grabbed the package and opened it anyway.

Lucky nudged her leg with her nose, and Kaia looked down and realized that she couldn't really share her snack with the dog. So, she walked to the pantry and searched for Lucky's favorite treats. Ah, she found it hiding behind the bulk of canned food and gave one treat to Lucky. The dog snatched the treat from her hand and ran away.

Kaia grabbed her backpack that she dropped at the door when greeted Lucky and then headed to her new bedroom. She opened her laptop and started to surf on Facebook, and her only friend, Ver, sent her a chat. Her eyes began to water as she remembered how her day was.

"Hi girl! How was your day at your new high school?"

"Average."

"Aww, come on! Tell me all the juicy information!"

"Like what?"

"Did you see any cute guys?!"

"Haha, not really. I was too focused on catching up with my schoolwork."
