"We should probably leave soon. Having this many demigods isn't good. It'll attract monsters." The other rider spoke up.
"I think you two should dress up and pack your belongings quickly so we can go to Camp. It's safer there." Xavier and I turned to each other, as if just realizing that we were still in our pajamas.
The two of us blushed and I ran into my house, quickly running up the stairs. I grabbed my purple Jan sport backpack and started stuffing clothes in. I'm going to Camp Half-Blood! I thought excitedly. But how am I suppose to give this to Mom? And what's it for? I finally finished packing and changed my pajamas into a new set of clothes. I wore my pink tank top with a white, thin jacket to go over and dark blue skinny jeans. I put on my red Vans and ran downstairs with my backpack. I jogged out the door to where my Dad and everyone else was standing. I saw Xavier racing back to where we were, wearing a gray hoodie, navy blue skinny jeans, and black Vans with his navy blue backpack.
"Let's go!" said Xavier, excitement filled in his voice. I turned to my Dad and hugged him.
"Love you, Dad," I said.
"Love you, too. Be safe. And don't forget about the bracelet," said Dad. I released my father and hoped onto the back of one of the pegasi, holding on tightly to the rider. I waved one last time to Dad, and we were off.
Souring through the sky on pegasi felt amazing! It felt like I could fly. As we passed clouds, I held my hand out and felt it evaporate at my touch. Wow, I thought, shutting my eyes to feel the wind. I have never felt so free! I opened my eyes to find us stopping at... a strawberry farm? I got off the pegasus and took a few steps. Xavier and I exchanged looks.
"Um, where's Camp?" I asked. Where in the world were we.
"You're looking at it," said the guy that I rode with on the pegasus. The two guys led Xavier and I inside the strawberry farm, but, it didn't look like a strawberry farm from inside. No, not close. There were archers shooting arrows at targets, getting bulls-eyes every time. There were tree looking people running through the forest with a few campers. Others were sword fighting. Above, Campers were riding pegasi, waving at us. This place was magnificent! Suddenly, someone walked, or should I say, trotted up to us. He had the upper body of a human, but the rear end of a horse.
"Greetings," said the half human half horse guys said. "I am Chiron, your activities director. You must be the new demigods." He handed us our schedules. First class, archery. Then rock climbing. After that was foot racing, Sword fighting was next. And so on. Xavier and I compared our schedules. We had the exact same classes. I was smiling inside while my heart was racing. Yes! Same classes with Xavier! Chiron finished explaining to us the cabins and which is which.
"Okay. Thank you, Chiron," I said. "I'll go to my cabin." I began walking, but heard someone following me. I turned around and found Xavier smiling.
"Hey, can I come with you?" he asked. I nodded and we headed to the Kristina cabin. Apollo's cabin was right next to it. Xavier went inside the Apollo cabin and I was left to face my brothers and sisters alone. I took a deep breath and entered. The place had a pretty good amount of kids. They all had brown hair, like me. Their eyes were probably like their mortal parent's eyes. Everyone stopped what they were doing and stared at me, watching my every move. I didn't know what to do. I froze at the spot. I'm very, very shy, so I wasn't use to so many people staring at me.
"H-Hi. I-I'm Narissa," I said meekly. Suddenly, everyone came up to me and greeted me. I received hugs from everyone. I heard people say 'Welcome!' and 'Awesome, a new sister!' My half brothers and sisters were so friendly! It felt like a bunch of weight had just been taken off of my shoulders. One of my half sisters, Cindi, showed me where my bed was. I stet my things down and walked outside to the Apollo cabin. I heard laughing, Xavier's laughing, and welcomes. Xavier came out of his cabin with a smile on his face.
"I love my cabin!" exclaimed Xavier, grinning from ear to ear.
"My too!" I said. It felt so nice not to be looked down on.
"Let's go to archery," said Xavier. I nodded and began walking. "Last one there's a hydra!" exclaimed Xavier before racing towards the kids shooting arrows. I shook my head with a smile on my face.
"I don't think so!" I said, sprinting, passing Xavier with ease.
