"J-Just a friend. Best friend," I said, slurring up my words.
"Tell me more about him," said Mom, smirking.
"Well," I started. "I've known Alex since I was two years old when Dad brought me to the same day-care as him. We went to the same school after that and were placed in the same class every year. Even in middle school. Last year in 6th grade we had science and basic ed together, and we do this year, too." Mom nodded.
"And did anything 'spark' last year?" she smiled. I blushed before answering.
"Umm...Well we were best friends then we started hanging out and last year he changed, in a good way, and I may have had a tiny crush on him," I said as quickly as possible, hoping Mom wouldn't understand a word I said. But she heard it all, and smirked at me. I blushed so much that I thought I would melt away because of all the heat coming from my cheeks.
"You can have a boyfriend if it ever comes up," said Mom. "When your 30." At first, I thought she was serious, but then Mom began laughing. "I'm joking, sweetie. But if you do want a boyfriend, you would have to ask your father, of course, after I agree to it." I blushed even more, if that was even possible. Mom stood up and I did the same. "Well, my dear, sadly, it's time to awaken. Enjoy your stay at Camp Half-Blood," she said, embracing me.
----------Back to Reality----------
I woke up in my bed, a smile on my face. Just then, my dad waked in with a tray of breakfast.
"Good morning. How are you feeling?" asked Dad as he put his hand against my head.
"Fine. And thank you for the breakfast," I said before taking the tray and eating away. I finished and got out of bed to put it away.
"I'll get that for you," said Dad, trying to get the tray from me. I shook my head.
"I can't be in bed all day. Dad. And I'll be fine. It's just to the kitchen," I said before leaving my room and heading downstairs. I set the tray in the sink and took a peak outside through the window. You would not believe what I saw. It was a pegasus! I heard my dad rush downstairs. He probably saw it, too. I was about to ask Dad why there was a pegasus outside, but he walked past me and opened the door.
"She's injured. She can't go now," said my Dad sternly, facing the people riding the magnificent creatures. One of the people riding them looked at my arm.
"Did you try ambrosia?" Dad shook his head.
"Ran out," said Dad. "But I do not want my little girl to-" he was cut off by Xavier coming out of his house, in his pajamas. I stifled a laugh because he was wearing duck pajamas. I saw Xavier blush, but ran up to one of the riders.
"Are you going to take us to Camp Half-Blood?!" asked Xavier excitedly. I couldn't help but feel excited myself. I mean, c'mon, how many people do you know that get picked up on pegasi
to go to a magical camp?! One of the riders nodded.
"Please, Dad, can I just go? I'm fine, I promise," I pleaded. Dad thought for a moment.
"Okay. I guess it would be safer to have you train at Camp," he finally said.
"Thank you," I said as I hugged my dad.
"But," he said, causing me to look up. "I need to give you something first." I watched as my dad took out a golden heart locket hanging on a bracelet and a heart locket, also gold. Dad put the necklace around my neck and handed me the bracelet. "If you see your mother, give this to her. She'll know what to do with it." I nodded my head and put the bracelet around my wrist. I've got to find Mom when I get to camp, but how? I thought. My thoughts were interrupted when one of the guys on the pegasi spoke up.
