YOUR POV:
Something didn't feel right. You didn't know what, but you felt weird about today. But why? You were flying back home tonight and you were finally going to see Austin. It's been a month since you've seen him, so shouldn't you feel excited?
You finished packing your suitcase so you could make it to the airport on time. Just then your phone rings. You take it off the charger and answer it.
You:" Hello?"
Austin:" Hey baby. Are you all packed?"
You:" Almost. I'm finishing up now."
Austin:" Well hurry. I miss you. I know New York is amazing, but I don't think I can wait another minute to see you."
You:" Mmhm. Me neither."
There was a pause.
Austin:" What's wrong?"
You:" Nothing."
Austin:" Y/n, there's something wrong. I can hear it in your voice."
You zip up your suitcase and wheeled it to the door.
You:" I don't know. Something doesn't seem right. . . Like something bad is going to happen."
Austin:" Why do you say that?"
You:" Just a feeling."
Austin:" Don't feel like that. In a few hours you're going to be back and I'm going to take you out to dinner. The only thing you need to worry about is getting to the airport so I can see you tonight. So hurry."
You:" Okay okay I'm going right now. I'll call you before I get on the plane."
You grab your suitcase and head to the elevator.
Austin:" Alright. I'll see you later. I love you."
You:" I love you, too."
AUSTIN'S POV:
Photographer:" That's great Austin. These are the best so far."
I kept looking at the clock to see what time it was. This photoshoot was going longer than expected. I was going to surprise Y/n at the airport, but that's not going to work if I'm here.
Photographer:" Alright. We're all set. I'll send you the finals in a few days."
Austin:" Okay perfect. Thank you."
I run to the dressing room and check my phone. Y/n left a voicemail.
You:" Hey Austin it's me. I'm waiting to board the plane. I'll call you when I get back to my house. I love you."
2 hours ago. I'll be able to make it to the airport in time. I grab my keys, get in my car and head to the airport. I stopped to pick up some Camellias that I'd ordered for her. They're her favorite. She likes roses but "roses are so cliché."
I smile as I pay the florist. Just thinking about Y/n made me smile.
••••••••••
I got to the airport and checked all the incoming flights. New York. . . 2491 and 2684. I didn't know which one she was on but 2491 was due to land first. 7:00pm at Gate B3. I go to the gate and sit in a seat by the windows.
••••••••••
"Excuse me. . . Austin. . ."
I opened my eyes and saw two girls in front of me. Did I really fall asleep? What time is it?
Girl 1:" I'm sorry I woke you up."
Austin:" No, thank you for waking me up. I didn't realize I'd fell asleep."
Girl 1:" You haven't been sleeping for a long time. . . Not that I was watching or anything."
Girl 2:" Do you mind if we take a picture with you?"
I looked around and realized a small group of people had started to form around me.
Austin:" Sure. Of course."
They both smiled and ran to give their phones to their mom.
Soon, the crowd got bigger and bigger. Some airport security kept everything under control; forming lines and limiting everybody's time. . . Then everything stopped. The crowd of excited fans got quiet and everyone looked up at the tv screen. . . Gasps. . . Worried looks. . .
I look up at the screen and read the news headline "Massive Plane Crash In Illinois". But that could be any plane right? I go closer so I could hear what the news anchor was saying.
Anchor:" Thank you for joining us today, we have breaking news. Flight 2491 from New York has crashed in Illinois due to an engine going out. Crews have been called on the scene and are now looking for survivors. People are wondering if this was an act of terrorism or if someone simply didn't complete all of the safety checks. Stay tuned for more on the story."
There's no way that Y/n was on that plane. There's no way. . .There's no way.
I couldn't move. . . What if. . . No. Impossible. . .
Anchor:" The New York flight was heading to L.A. earlier today. By standers said that they saw the plane in the sky fly above them, then saw the black smoke. Then the plane started spiraling down suddenly. Aviation engineers say that something internally on the airplane could have also contributed to the crash. All flights departing today have been delayed or cancelled in order to ensure that something like this won't happen again. . .This just in. . ."
She looks down and then back up at the camera.
Anchor:" This flight was completely booked and. . . there were no survivors."
I couldn't breathe. Is this really happening? This can't be real. Maybe that wasn't her flight. Maybe she was on the other one.
My phone rings. It's Y/n's dad. He's only ever called me to talk to Y/n if she was with me.
Austin:" H-hello?"
Y/D:" Austin. . ."
I heard Y/n's mom crying in the background.
Y/D:" Are you busy? Do you mind coming by the house?"
Austin:" I-I'm actually at the airport waiting for Y/n's flight to land."
Y/D:" Austin. . . Didn't you see the news?"
Austin:" Yeah, but maybe that wasn't her flight. M-maybe she was. . .maybe she. . ."
I tried to hold back the tears. Reality was started to hit me.
Y/D:" Austin. . . Y/n was on flight 2491. . ."
We both cracked. I heard Y/D start crying and I hung up the phone before he could say anything else. . .
