Percy Weasley

It's rather quiet in the library today, not that I'm complaining. I enjoy as much silence as I can get. The book in front of me is bigger than I wish it would be, but it's better if I do this. Spanish is a very common language and it's best if I learn it in case I ever need to use it.

I read word after word and silently whisper the Spanish translation to myself before moving to the next word. As I get to the B's, I notice a girl sit on the other side of the walkway. Her hair is a dark green and she wears Hufflepuff robes.

Her eyes are a vibrant shade of purple and her skin looks a bit darker than mine. She's using a muggle pencil and sketching in a notebook. I can't tell what she's drawing, but I shouldn't be focused on that. I refocus on my Spanish dictionary and begin to recite words.

"Bed...cama. Be-"

"Can you be a little quieter please?" I look over to see the vibrant purple eyes staring at me.

I nod and return to my book. Instead of whispering, I say them in my head. I get all the way to the P's when a clap on my back makes me jump.

"Percy, my-"

"Oliver, keep your voice down! This is a library." He shrugs.

"What're you doing here, Perce? Why frickle frackle in here when we could be having some fun?" I close the book and sigh.

"Alright. I'll leave. Just make sure there's something to do that joys me too." He nods and we leave the library. He completely ignores the green haired girl and keeps walking.

"Oliver, who was that green haired girl?" He looks over at me quickly and looks back away.

"Caitlin Prickott. The girl who turned her hair yellow after she was sorted into Hufflepuff." I nod and think back to the sorting.

"Before the sorting, her hair looked like mine." He nods.

"Good observation, Perce." I roll my eyes at his sarcasm.

"I was only pointing something out. Where are we going?" We turn away from the corridor that leads to the common room.

"Somewhere for you to read other than that stuffy library." I smile. Oliver has been my best friend since we started Hogwarts. He's always thoughtful when it comes to my reading.

"Are you going to throw a quaffle at the same time?" He shakes his head.

"I'm just going to sit there and admire the nature." I glance over at him.

"Nature?" He nods.

We arrive at our tree by the black lake and I sit against it gladly. I open my book and call over Oliver.

"Help me practice my Spanish." He sits in front of me and awaits my instruction.

"Ugh, Percy. I'm so done with your Spanish right now." I shake my head frantically.

"No! We're at the T's now!" Oliver stands up after having sit for about an hour and a half.

"Yes! I'm going to go take a nap." Oliver runs off to the castle and I sigh.

I think about writing to my parents. I haven't seen them since holiday break and it's already May. Fourth year is coming to an end quickly, and I don't feel ready. What if I'm not appointed prefect or what if don't do well in my O.W.L.'s? Fifth year could be set up for disaster.

"What're you doing out here, Perce?" I look up to see Fred and George.

"I was studying." They laugh with each other.

"Studying! What a nerd!" I roll my eyes and ignore them.

"Don't you two have something better to do?" They glance at each other, then back at me.

"Of course we do. Bye Perce!" They run off and I sigh.

"Spending a day out by the lake, Weasley?" I look up to see Tonks standing above me.

"Hello, Tonks." She smiles.

"Were you left alone?" I nod.

"My friend pulled me out of the library and brought me here. He just left though." She nods and leans against the tree.

"Say, were you just in he library?" I shrug with a nod.

"About an hour ago." She stands up with intent.

"Have you seen my friend Caitlin? I'm not sure sure what color hair she's got today, I think it's green, but she has purple eyes and she's always drawing something and-"

"Yes, Tonks. She was in the library earlier and her hair is green today." She jumps up and down and her hair becomes the same shade of green that Caitlin's is.

"Thanks, Percy!" She runs off in the direction of the library after she waves.

After walking back to the common room, I find that many people are enjoying each other's company. I shake my head and run up to my dorm.

After hours of reading the Spanish dictionary, I leave the book on my nightstand and try to sleep.

After thinking about how fifth year will end, I close my eyes and breathe out every thought possible, except one.

That was a nice shade of green.
