If Only ⇢ Kai x Ein

⇢ Chapter 6

"Ein, we are only laughing!" I giggle and begin to stand up, pulling him with me.

He continues to stare at me with a dumbfounded expression. "Laughing? Oh... I forgot what that sounded like. I haven't heard it in a long time... I'm so sorry for being an idiot.." Ein trails off and looks down.

I smile brightly and lift his chin "You don't need to apologise, I also woke up thinking something was on fire, but really it was just Jax and Ryder's terrible cooking skills." I giggle

Jax and Ryder stopped laughing when they heard me say that.

"HEY! YOU SAID IT WAS UNIQUE!" Ryder whined and growled at me.

"WE'LL REMEMBER THAT WHEN YOU STARVE!" Jax yelled and stomped towards to kitchen, Ryder following close behind.

I giggled and turned my attention back towards Ein.

"You hungry? I'll make sure to cook you up a proper meal" I insisted and led him towards the kitchen.

"T-Thank you.." Ein said in surprise once we reached the end of the hallway to the kitchen.

"You go sit down, I'll start cooking now" I smiled and motioned towards the table where Jax and Ryder were sat.

Once I made sure Ein was seated, I began cooking up some proper eggs. I decided just to cook some for everyone since nobody really had a proper breakfast.

Once the eggs were cooked, I placed them on a plate and added some blueberries on the side and walked over the table.

"Here you go guys, I hope you like my unique eggs" I joked and grinned at Jax and Ryder.

"Not as unique as ours, but I'll eat them anyway." Ryder exclaimed and Jax nodded his head in agreement.

"Thanks, Kai" Ein smiled at me and started eating his eggs slowly.

I smiled back and sat down next to Ein, with my plate in my hands.

"So.. How did you sleep last night?" I decided to ask Ein once I noticed Jax and Ryder were chatting in their own little conversation.

Ein shrugged "It was way better than usual. I was really comfortable" Ein smiled and took another bite of his eggs.

I smiled in response and watched him eat his breakfast.

I'm glad he is safe, I really am.

Despite what he did back then, he had a valid reason, a backstory, and I know that Aphmau would understand if he only just told her. I lost all contact with Aphmau once I started hanging around Jax and Ryder in highschool. I wish I at least kept some contact with her, I was just too determined.

That was long ago, but it still bugs me. I do always stop and realise that I'll never see my family again, my old friends, my old self. I was a disappointment. I always believed them when they'd say that they would love me no matter what. I was such a fool.

My eyes softened and trailed down to my food. Suddenly my appetite wasn't at it's best.

"I think I'm going to go for a walk, I'll be back later." I noted and placed my plate in the sink.

"Are you sure? It's really cold outside." Jax replied, looking up from him and Ryder's conversation.

"I'll wear my coat" I smiled and took my coat from the wooden rack it was hanging on.

"L-Let me come with you!" Ein suddenly said, standing up from his chair.

I paused and looked at him

"Really? Are you sure you want to.. You know, go back out there?" I asked, hoping he knew what I was referring too.

"I also need some fresh air" Ein insisted and walked towards me.

I smiled reassuringly at him and signed." Okay fine, but you'll have to borrow Jax's coat." I laughed and handed Ein Jax's coat from the rack.

"Don't get it dirty!" Jax warned.

"He won't, we're just going for a walk" I laughed and began walking to the front door with Ein following behind me.

Sorry for such a shortish chapter and no update in so long >.< school just started back for me and I already have 2 assignments to do ;-;
But in history we're learning about medieval which I love!!
