If Only ⇢ Kai x Ein

⇢ Chapter 4

I furrowed my eyebrows as I saw them walk behind the lodge where a bunch of cars were parked.

I curiously followed them from the trees and decided to spy. Don't blame me, blame my curiosity.

I hid silently behind the leaves and inspected their conversation.

The male had black werewolves ears and tail, tanned skin, black hair, and black eyes. The woman was not a werewolf and had greyish hair, tanned skin, and light brown eyes.

"Derek, When will Aaron heal?" The woman said with a worried expression on her face.

"It'll take him about a year to fully heal. The damage done to him is serious and we will need to take him away to get special treatment and therapy." The male replied and looked down at his suit.

"What about my daughter? How will she be able to hold up without him?" The woman asked again. She looked like she was going to cry.

"She'll just have to wait a year. She can come see him again after a year. But she simply just can not see him during the healing process." The male werewolf added.

"I understand... I'll help her through the year... Where will he be healing?" The woman asked

"We plan on taking him to Starlight Wonderland. It's a fun and very medical-friendly place, especially for therapy sessions. Aaron did mention he wants to take Aphmau to Starlight, so this will also be a good reunion place for them too." The man smiled and looked up at her.

"Perfect! When do you plan on leaving the lodge" The woman asked.

"Tonight. We are taking him straight to Starlight Wonderland by boat since he can rest on there." The male claimed.

The woman nodded and began walking back to the lodge doors with the man following close behind.

Once they were out of sight I untangled myself from the leaves that I used to hide my figure.

This was a lot to take in. So in summary, Aphmau was going back home while Aaron was traveling to Starlight Wonderland? I've seen that place on advertisements back in town, it does look very nice there.

I decided to go back to the shelter and tell Ein the new information I learnt. This will hopefully come helpful to him.

I jumped off the tree and landed on the snow with my feet. I ran back to the shelter as fast as I could, my cape and tail flowing behind me in the harsh winds that were occurring.

Once I arrived in front of the shelter I opened the wooden door and saw Ein, Jax and Ryder playing a board game on the sofa. They were all startled at my sudden burst in and looked over at me with shocked faces.

"God Kai you scared me." Ryder mentioned and put his hand on his racing heart.

"Glad you're back, what did you manage to catch..?" Jax asked, soon realising I had no dead animals in my hands like usual.

I signed and shut the wooden door behind me before walking into the warm cottage.

"I got something better than food.." I started and took a seat next to Ein while taking my black boots off my aching feet from running so fast in the snow.

"Better be better than food" Ryder mocked, putting his arm around Jax who smiled at him.

"Ein, this may come helpful to you if you still want revenge." I mentioned towards Ein who's eyes softened.

"Tell!" Ryder said in a fake girly voice.

"Okay, Long story short, I was at the lodge and saw a man and a woman talking. Who I assume to be Aaron's dad and Aphmau's mother. They mentioned that Aaron will be shipped to a place called Starlight Wonderland to hea-" I started but got cut off by a loud gasp from Ryder

"STARLIGHT WONDERLAND? OH MY GOD!" Ryder screamed and looked at Jax who started smiling even wider.

"That's where Jax and I first met!" Ryder screamed and hugged Jax who hugged him back

Ein laughed slightly at them but then turned back to me.

Are Jax and Ryder being too open on their relationship? I thought they didn't want Ein to know until later..

I shook it off "Can I continue?" I glared at the two who were still hugging intensely.

"Yes, sorry." Jax laughed and pecked Ryder's cheek softly causing him to blush.

I rolled my eyes "Well before I was ever so RUDELY interrupted," I started and eyed the couple who had goofy grins on their faces.

"Aaron's dad is shipping Aaron over to Starlight Wonderland to heal and take therapy lessons. He said it would take a whole year for him to completely heal, and Aphmau can't come along. She has to stay home and wait a whole year until she can see him again in Starlight Wonderland." I finished and looked at Ein who looked astonished.

"A whole y-year? How many times did she stab him?" Ein asked

"I saw her cut and stab him a lot, and he just took it before passing out. I guess he just lost a lot of blood." I looked at Ein again

"Dang, he's lucky to be alive." Jax said

Ryder and I nodded while Ein held his head low, he looks so concentrated, like he was thinking about something.

"Wait, so Aphmau won't be around Aaron for a whole year? Here's your chance Ein." Ryder grinned and pat Ein's shoulder

Ein looked up at him horrified

"Are you crazy? She won't ever love me after what I did. I think it's best to forget about her. All humans hate me officially and I hate them. Plus I have new people who I know care about me" Ein mentioned and smiled warmly at all of us.

"We always have" I said and he smiled widely at me, showing his human teeth without werewolf fangs.

"If you don't want Aphmau anymore.. Then what's next for you?" Jax suddenly asked and starred at Ein.

Ein looked down at his lap and his smile faded.

We all remained quiet as we watched Ein think,

"I want to become a werewolf again." Ein exclaimed, breaking the silence.
