HARRY P.O.V

I needed to get as close to her as possible. Grace. When I was around her she warmed me, I don’t know whether it was the way that she scrunched her nose up when she laughed, or the way her eyes looked deep and wonderful. She just made me feel me. I hardly knew the girl but I felt the sudden urge to be close to her. I was known for being Rosewood’s bad boy, I had fucked pretty much every girl on campus that showed up at the frat parties, but there was something about Grace that made me think she’d get me to work for her trust, she wasn’t going to give in easily – and to be honest, I didn’t want her to.

I had apologised to her in my room at the frat house, I really did feel bad about making her admit that in front of everyone. It felt like a weight had been taken off of my shoulders when I knew she hadn’t fucked anyone yet.

I was lying on my bed when I heard my phone vibrate; I picked it out of my pocket and looked at it. There were no messages or voice messages. What the hell? I went to turn my bedside lamp on when I realised a blue iPhone on the bedside table, it was Graces phone. She must have forgotten to pick it up when she left the room after I apologised. A grin appeared on my face, I’ll take this as an excuse to go and see her tomorrow.

GRACE P.O.V

I woke up in my dorm and the first thing I felt was the pounding in my head.  I looked around and Ruby was sprawled across her bed, still wearing her party outfit, makeup smudged all over her face. I couldn’t help but giggle at the thought of her tumbling through the door in the early hours of the morning and collapsing on the bed. I didn’t know what it was but I already felt like I had my place here at Rosewood. The boys from One Direction (Zayn had informed me that’s what their band was called) all seemed cool and Ruby made me feel like I had known her for years.

I sat up in bed for a while but I felt like I was missing something. My mind quickly turned to Harry’s apology last night and how his green eyes burned right through mine, I felt compelled towards him for some reason, a reason that I desperately tried to ignore.

MY PHONE! How could I have been such an idiot? I left my phone at the frat house, great. As if on cue there was a knock at the door. I groaned and got out of bed – boy, did I look a mess. I turned the door knob and was greeted by a full head of curls.

“Erm, hi Harry,” I said, a confused expression spread across my face. He put his arm out to reveal a large hand holding my iPhone.

“You left this in my bedroom last night,” he said coolly.

“Oh, yeah, right, thanks.” I said awkwardly. As I took my phone from his hand, there was a brief moment when our skin touched; it sent electricity running right through me, goose bumps appeared on my skin and I could feel myself blushing. Why was I blushing? I carefully put my phone in my pyjama pockets and looked up at Harrys face. He was smirking.

“What?” I questioned as he continued to look at me smiling.

“I like your pyjamas,” he replied, laughter rippling though his voice.

I couldn’t help but laugh as I swayed my legs from side to side; I was now regretting wearing my despicable me minion pyjamas to bed.

“Thanks.” I giggled, “and thanks for returning my phone.” I went to close the door when he stopped it with his foot.

“Look tonight me and the boys have a gig at one of the local bars, maybe you’d like to come along.” There was a slight shyness in his voice, did I make him shy?

I was just about to answer when Ruby stumbled up behind me. When did she wake up?

“We’d love to go.” She slurred.

“Wow,” laughed Harry, “you look rough as hell.” I have to admit Ruby did look pretty rough.

“Fuck you,” she spat and walked back to bed.

Harry and I both smiled.

“So you’ll come?” he said, hopeful eyes locking onto mine.

“Yeah, I will, see you there.” I smiled back.

“Great!” He beamed, “I wrote a new song for the band to play tonight, it was inspired by someone I met yesterday,” and with that Harry winked and left. I turned to face Ruby who was now positioned on the couch; her eyes held dark bags and her hair was a tatted mess. I could tell she didn’t feel too good and neither did I, last night’s alcohol abuse was still coursing through me, I felt terrible.

After spending the morning in bed I got up and showered, the hot water pounded on my skin relieving all the tension that had been building up since I left my mother yesterday. I washed my hair and rinsed out the suds. I turned off the water and grabbed my towel rapping it around me, my body appeared so pure compared to Harrys tattooed arms; I had always wanted a tattoo but never had the guts to get one, seeing Harrys inks was persuading me to get one done whilst I was at college.

After brushing my teeth and drying my hair I walked back into the dorm, Ruby was already dressed and appeared as if she’d had a full 12 hours sleep. I gave her a simple smile and sat down starting work on the bird nest on top of my head. I tugged away at it, pulling it in every direction possible. Once it was tamer I grabbed my curlers and wrapped my hair around the barrel. Curl after curl appeared and I set them with some hairspray, coughing as some of it landed in my mouth. When I was finished with my hair I tackled my makeup, since we was only going to a bar I put on a light coverage foundation, some mascara and a lick of lip-gloss. I plodded into our closet and grabbed a pair of jeans, my black DR Martens and a White vest top.

I walked into our room and looked at Ruby.

“What time is it?” I asked.

“6,” she replied.

“Right then, let’s go,” I said, smiling.

I grabbed my black leather jacket and threw it on, Ruby was walking next to me wearing UGG’s, jeans and a t-shirt. I locked the door and we both headed towards my car.
