Okay, so here's my plan. I will be doing one and just one thing whole afternoon till Ed is home and that is... Movie Marathon!!
I wanted to call Lucy and Jennifer over for some girl time but sensing it would create too much drama, I decided that I should just enjoy Logan Lerman and Dylan O'Brien alone without anyone disturbing my perverted thoughts. I settled down on the couch in the living room with my collection of chick flicks, actions, mysteries and thrillers. Upon deciding what I wanted to watch, I started looking for supplements; as in ice-cream and chocolates and popcorn. Suffice to say, my family wasn't a big supporter of junk food so I would be very lucky to find some of the things I was looking for. Nope. Nothing. Nada; if you exclude a small pack of Skittles!
I put on my brother's Captain America hoodie and put on the boots from over the jeans I was wearing. As I opened the front door, a chilly wind welcomed me. Glad I wore a hoodie. Covering my face with the hood and my hair, I started walking towards the nearest Baskin & Robbins. I wanted ice-cream and where else could I taste heaven if not in B&R. The coziness and smell made me feel like home, as soon as I entered the shop. I ordered my usual flavours—chocolate, vanilla and strawberry— three different tubs. As I waited, I saw two girls of my school enter the shop laughing evilly at something. Our eyes connected and a sense of recognition flashed over my face. Of course, it was Charlotte and her minion Sophie Bishop. I mentally slapped myself for coming in a famous shop to get something as basic as ice-cream. She narrowed her eyes and gave me a once-over before quickly flipping her hair and getting in the queue, a few people behind me. I know she's after Bryan because you know the rule, being in a relationship with the most sought-after person would give her even more power to bully around. Of course, she would never leave that opportunity even if that meant crushing anyone who's in the way. I'd be lucky if they leave me, because I was the closest to Bryan. Well, but not now. Maybe she knows this and will rub it in my face. Not long after, I heard them talk to themselves.
"Hey, you know what happened at school between Bryan and his best friend today?" Charlotte started at an unreasonably high volume.
"Yeah, they fought, right?" said Sophie. She may be cruel and heartless but she wasn't smart. Like Charlotte. Charlotte pretends to be dumb and lame but instead she's quite the opposite. You won't ever know what she might have up her sleeve!
"Too bad, ain't it? I think Bryan was bored of her. Too bad, though." I could sense the smirk even without looking at her. She was here to make a mockery of me, and I was just...listening.
"Yeah, is he looking for someone new?" Sophie asked curiously and my whole body tensed at the question waiting for Charlotte to answer.
"Yeah, he is. And he'll find one soon. Because you know, there aren't many girls worth his attention." I peeked at her while I struggled with the weight of the ice-cream tubs in my hand, and Charlotte rolled her eyes at me. She fucking rolled her eyes at me! Well, technically I should be the one doing that! I just shrug in return and walk out of the shop.
I leave the shop but my thoughts don't. I know it's stupid to believe Charlotte at all. But what she said seemed so true. I mean, I'm not really the prettiest and most famous of girls in school. And now that she's mentioned this, I don't think I'm going to get any sleep tonight.
As I sat before the idiot box which was in some way meant to entertain me, though completely failing in it, my mind reverted back to what Charlotte had said. Truth be told, I wasn't a popular, I wasn't a nerd either, I was a completely average girl with a completely average looking face and a completely average life. You get my point? I am average in every sense of the word. And Bryan leaving me for someone prettier and funnier didn't seem something as impossible. You know he's got the looks, the style, the aura. Maybe he realised that it's senior year and he needed to do something which would make the whole student body remember him. Of course everyone wants to be remembered, but at what cost?
This is bad, I don't want to think about Bryan like that.
Although what Charlotte said seemed completely believable but I couldn't completely believe her. I don't know if it was because of her usual bitchy nature or the fact that Bryan's messages and calls hadn't stopped since I got home from school. I didn't check his messages though, because I knew what he had typed in those. I didn't even check my voice mails because I knew what it contained too. I started feeling sorry for him, but I wouldn't talk to him. I couldn't. After what he said, it was so hard for me to just go and talk of what happened. People say it's okay to talk but it's uncomfortable and awkward and totally irrelevant. I'm just being a pussy and these are all excuses, I know! But still...
