⇢ Chapter 2

"Soon I killed someone by stabbing them inside a shopping market since I heard them insulting werewolves.. Crazy, I know.. I honestly don't know what came over me.. When the police arrived, I ran, I ran as fast as I could, until I ended up lost in a forest, only managing to survive on animals that I hunted, and build myself a shelter out of wood from trees."

"And I'm still here to this day.." Kai finished, tears spilling from his eyes.

I was frozen in shock. I looked over at Kai and saw him wiping his tears on his white cape.

He got this far because of me? My story changed him?

"Kai...." I whispered and looked at him with apologetic eyes.

"I'm.. I'm sorry.. You didn't have to take pity of me.. I didn't know Jax or Ryder would tell anybody else of my harsh past." I said and looked down, his crying face making my guilt rise.

Kai looked back at me "No... Don't be sorry, it's not your fault, it was my choice.. I felt I was doing the right thing. Hearing your story made me feel sympathy towards you. I wanted to help as best as I could, just Imagining the state you were in while in those jail cells made me feel worse.." He sniffed and smiled at me crookedly.

"Honestly, I was fine in those jail cells, the other inmates were very rough, especially the werewolves one, and I loved it. That's where I learnt all my fighting techniques.." I admitted and looked over at Kai once again.

Kai looked at me with wide eyes. "I'm glad you were okay in there.."

I gave him a small smile. Why did he care about me enough to do this?

"How did you find me?" I finally asked and Kai looked at me and signed.

"W-Well.. At first I didn't know you were here.. Then I noticed you when I was going out hunting. I didn't want you to know I was here so I watched from the trees. I've been watching you ever since Aphmau and that emo-looking kid arrived. I spotted their car and from my shelter and began calling for help, but then I saw Aphmau arise from the car, and I decided to inspect everything. Soon after I discovered you and your army of wolves. I felt so proud of you..." Kai smiled at the memories

"I could have used another meif'wa in my pack" I joked, remembering how annoying Michi was.

"Hey... Can I ask you something?" Kai said and walked a little closer to me, sitting down on his knees and lifted some white snow into his gloved hands.

"Uh, sure? You already know everything though.." I said curiously.

"Not everything." Kai corrected and lifted his ears, pouring the snow from his hands.

I raised my eyebrow at him.

"If you hated humans so much.. Then why did you want Aphmau so badly, I mean, surely you know by now that she wasn't a werewolf, she became alpha in Highschool by mistake." Kai asked.

My expression softened and I looked down at my torn up clothes.

"Because.... I was named omega back in my old high school since everyone believed that I was the weakest.. Which made me even more angry and determined to become stronger. Hence why I got piercings and dyed my hair blue, I wanted to look threatening as a start. Yet, I still got bullied. My auntie soon pulled me out of that school when she found out and noticed scars forming on my face from recent fights. So I then moved to Phoenix Drop High since it was supposed to be a good school with well-mannered people. So I joined it but I was still omega. And I still got picked on but I wasn't as bad as in my old school."
