"Aaron, you seriously need to calm down" James mumbles, looking up at the pacing man. Aaron was shaking. They were going to adopt a kid soon.... What if he was a bad parent?  What if he did something wrong? Aaron froze and looked at James from across the kitchen "Calm down? James I cannot calm down" he said a bit harshly, pacing picking up speed. James lightly sighed, pen he was writing with picking up speed. Aaron took in a breath; here comes the lecture he's gotten a billion times. "James this is a huge commitment..." James squinted at the other; Aaron wasn't one to talk that much, but he was trying to get out of this. The tiny man had zoned out, silently watching the other pace and rant. Aaron's tone got louder, "no more date nights! No more sex! It's going to be all about our kids!" He yelled. James came back to earth, "Aaron, we can just leave them with Thomas or something" he shrugged. Aaron scoffed and looked at James with furrowed brows "You think I'll leave them with /him/?" He asked. James set down his pen, "I know you don't like him but..." Aaron interrupted his husband, eyes raging "Don't like him? Don't LIKE HIM?! I HATE HIM"James flinched and shook his head "Aaron there's no need to yell.." Aaron slammed his fist on the counter "What if I yell at our kids? James I'm not ready for this!" Burr turned to gently grip at the edge if the counter. Tears slowly fell down his face. James sighed softly, slowly walking to wrap arms around his lover, "Aaron.. if you're not ready, we can wait.." Aaron turned to just lean down and bury his crying eyes into James's shoulder. James nuzzled his face against Aaron's cheek. "Uh... Aaron... if it means anything.. I think you'll make a great parent" Aaron slowly leaned back, eyes red and tear trails staining his cheeks. He forced a smile as he combed his fingers playfully through James's small puff of hair. James held back a small giggle, smile growing on his face, "Aaron.. we'll wait until you're ready okay?" He asked. Aaron nodded, "Even if it takes five years?" James nodded "Even if it takes an eternity." He said. Aaron laughed and picked up James, helping James wrap his legs around his waist. James instinctively wrapped arms around Aaron's neck, letting his fingers meet and lace together. Aaron let out a little smirk, lowering his voice to be deep and quiet, "You know... there are no kids yet.." he whispers, going to kiss at James's neck. James bit his lip and smiled, "Aaron, as much as that does sound fun, I got work to do" he said, gently patting Aaron's shoulders, signaling he wanted down. Aaron shook his head, now biting at James's neck, before moving his lips to the other side. Soon, he pulled away, "You want kids? you're mine for the next 24 hours-" James looked at him with wide eyes, "24 hours!?" Aaron leaned back further, smirk beginning to grow "24 hours." James smiled "Screw work, I want kids"

2 years later

Aaron stood in the corner, staring at James and the small creature in the man's arms. "Aaron, you're not going to come see Thomas?" James asked, bouncing the small child in his arms. Aaron trembled "He's going to hate me-" James shook his head, finger reaching to brush along the baby's head. The small child responded by wrapping his small hand around James's finger with a giggle. James smiled and kissed the baby's forehead. "Aaron, come on-" James whispered. "I can't believe you named something so cute after something so evil" Aaron whispered. James shook his head "Thomas is not evil" Aaron lightly shook his head, finally making his way over to James and the baby. Aaron smiled at the little guy and leaned against James. The baby sniffed and made a small noise, eyes looking at Aaron and tilting his head. Aaron grinned and gently lifted the baby, holding him instead of James. The baby blinked, looking at the transition before bursting into tears, whining and making grabby hands at James. James frowned before gently taking the baby back, cooing at him and holding him close, "Did I do something wrong?" Aaron asked quietly, a disappointed look on his face. James shook his head, "No.. you did great!" He reassured him. Aaron nodded slowly, shrugging a bit, "I guess the baby holding thing just isn't for me..." James sighed and walked to lean against Aaron, the baby's eyes slowly closing. "I love you, Aaron.." he mumbled. Aaron wrapped arms around James, kissing his head "I love you too"

3 years later

James sat with Thomas in his lap, bouncing the tiny kid, "okay.. repeat after me- firetruck" he said. The toddler furrowed his brows before responding "Fi-wuh-shuck" James gave his head a little kiss "No... sweetie.. truck... tttruck.." he said. The toddler simply responded "I get I ceam?" James looked down "You get ice cream later, after dinner." The toddler pouted a bit "Nucketsh?" James nodded "Yeah, we're having nuggets." Aaron soon entered with a little baby girl sleeping in his arms "She won't stop sleeping" James looked up and smiled "Well at least she likes you" Aaron shook his head "Not really, I tried to do that finger thing you did with Thomas earlier this morning and she bit me" James laughed "Aaron she doesn't have teeth." Aaron huffed "Well her intentions were clear!" James lightly shook his head. The toddler in his lap squirmed and blinked at Aaron. "How's he doing?" Burr asked. James sighed "Well he's still struggling to pronounce stuff... but he's only 3.. He'll improve I just know it"  James replied, smiling happily. "I'm sure he will..."

4 years later

"Nuffets! NUFFETS" Thomas exclaimed, slamming hid hands on the table. James shook his head "No, baby... it's nug-gets" he said "Nug... get... you can say get just fine why can't you do this?" He asked, groaning as he leaned back. "Alright Sarah is asleep right now.. like usual and Alexander is asleep with her" Aaron said as he entered the room. James had slight tears in his eyes. Aaron frowned "what's wrong?" Thomas exclaimed out "Nufletsh!" James leaned his head in his hands before looking up and saying "What if he never gets it?" James cried softly. Aaron rushed over and knelt down, consoling him, "Hey.. he will... we should send him to a professional... there are lots of those- or maybe a doctor!" He suggested. James nodded slowly, "Yeah.. you're right." Thomas looked at James, making grabby hands at him. "Daffy! Daffy!" James smiled, gently picking up the small toddler snuggling him close to his chest.
