Prologue

*Zach's POV*

I don't know how to tell her...

Grace has been my best friend since we were in diapers. There has never been a moment apart for us and suddenly we are gonna be thousands of miles apart.

I don't have the guts to tell her.

I'm weak when it comes to Grace. She could ask for anything and I would drop on bended knee to do it. She's my best friend and that's all she'll ever be, but God I wish we could have had a chance to be something more.

I don't have the time to tell her.

*Grace's POV*

Zach has been my best friend since birth and i'll be damned if there was a day we weren't attached to the hip. He really is my other half, my better half. I can't imagine life without him. Luckily, I won't have to.

Until...

" Did you hear me Grace?" Zach whispers.

As I shake my head, he grabs to hold my hand.

"I said I'm leaving. There's a band forming in LA and I can't stay in Dallas if I want to pursue my dreams."

A few tears drop from my eyes as I take in the news. I turn my head away from him as best as I can but there's no faking a broken heart.

"We'll be okay. We always have been." he tells me.

I nod my head as best as I can. There is no way I can go on without him by my side.

As much as I try to shake the feeling I can't deny I like Zach more than a friend. It would ruin everything and I know Z will always look at me like a sister.

"I'm so proud of you Z."

"You're not upset?"

"Never, your dreams are my dreams."

He stands up to go and holds me tight. As we start to let go he leans down and whispers, " See you soon okay?"

"Promise you won't forget about me?"

"Impossible."

Little did I know, it was definitely possible.
