The Three Kings and Kat

Chapter 1

Sorry if the Italian is not phrased correctly, I can't really write in it that well and I'm just to lazy to try, so I used a translator, hopefully it's not to bad. The italics is what is approximately says, mostly, or at least what I want it so say, lol.

"Okay dad, I have to go now. Class is starting soon. Give my love to Bella." I said and quickly ended the call. I turned towards a young red-haired woman reclining on a seat with an eyeroll.

The redhead smirked at me. "Why do you go on with the ruse? It's not like Charlie will ever find out."

I rolled my eyes again and relaxed into my own seat. "It's a matter of safety. If he knows nothing, then they have no reason to go after him." I sighed. "Are we there yet?"

Lily giggled slightly." You're so impatient! I would have thought that the youngest and greatest assassin on the northern hemisphere would have more patience than that!"

I raised an eyebrow. "I am not the greatest, stop exaggerating, and I'm not impatient, I just can't wait to get rid of the target."

Lily giggled once more. "You are the best assassin I've worked with! And you're super rich, I mean you have your own JET!"

I stared at her with a raised eyebrow. "The only assassin you worked with never even killed anyone before, of course I'm better than him."

"Minor detail. Oh look!" Lily pointed to the window and looked back at me with a grin."I can see some land!"

"Finally!" I huffed as I jumped from my seat while grabbing a small backpack from the ground.

A picture fell out from my sudden movement and Lily was quick to pick it up.

"Who's she, she looks a lot like you?"

I looked at the picture with pursed lips as I took it from Lily's hands. "It's my twin. She lives with our dad now, in Washington and she is the most useless person I have ever had the displeasure of meeting."

"Wow...that's a bit harsh."

I rolled my eyes as I sat back down and replied. "It's a fact. Bella can't do anything on her own, she is dependent on others and she is still in school!"

Lily looked at her with both eyebrows raised."Kat, you do realise that it's not normal to graduate high school at ten and have a PhD in psychology and a doctoral degree in law at 17, right?"

I looked appalled. "Really? I had no idea!" I said sarcastically. "And you forgot my masters in biology, anthropology, and chemistry, and my bachelors in economics."

Lily groaned."Don't remind me!"

"In any case the only thing Bella can actually do is find trouble." I scowled at the memory and Lily winced, a scowling Kat is a scary Kat. "Last time I saw her, it was our eleventh birthday, she decided we should explore the forest. We did, it was a stupid mistake on my part, and soon it got dark and that's where everything went wrong. The lights hanging nearby suddenly went out and everything got much colder, Bella, being terrified of the dark, ran who knows where, leaving me in the dark all alone. A few minutes of standing in the dark later I decided to go back the way we came from. Everything would have probably turned out fine, if it wasn't for screaming Bella running towards me with a wild rabid dog chasing her. I don't even know where she found it, so don't ask. In anycase that was, thankfully, the last I saw of her before I went off to college and so forth."

Lily grinned. "I think I would like her."

I looked at her blankly and her grin disappeared.

"Or not."

I suddenly laughed, startling Lily and causing her to blush, "I'm just kidding, you would probably get along splendidly."

"Ma'am, we've landed." A male voice rung through the jet and I grinned in relief.

I quickly walked out of the jet, not waiting for Lily, and walked to the man standing outside.

The man was short with dark hair and brown eyes which seemed to study the jet unblinkingly.

I quickly embraced him. "Jim! I missed you! How is the contract going?"

Jim hugged me back and visibly winced at the question. "I still can't find him! I've been checking surveillance cameras and he is nowhere to be seen. It's almost as if he just disappeared,"

I sighed in disappointment as I released him." I guess I have to do it the old fashioned way."

"You could have helped me Kat, instead of...Oh hi Jim!" A female figure suddenly appeared next to us and hugged Jim as well.

"I missed you so much! You have no idea how hard it is to look after Kat! One minute she's here and the next she's..." She suddenly looked around and groaned, not finding Kat anywhere."..gone."

Jim laughed. "Maybe you should just wait for her to come back. You won't waste your energy as much looking for her and will have more time for yourself. It's what I do."

Lily sighed. "I guess...but if she kills half the city, it's your fault, understood?"

Jim nodded with a grin. "How about we get a drink while we wait, I think this will take a while."

Lily shrugged,"Why not, let's go."

They both walked back to the jet and Jim watched at Lily tried to find something to drink. When he noticed the wine bottles lying in the wine rack he looked at her questioningly.

"Why don't we just drink the wine."

Lily looked at him as though he were insane. "Kat told me she store the blood of her victims in them and drinks it when she feels like it. I would rather not find out if she was telling the truth or not."

Jim shuddered and moved away from the wine rack.

---On the other side of the jet---

I smoothed down my black knee length dress and stopped a beautiful young woman with purple eyes who was staring at the jet with wide eyes. I smiled at her kindly as I stepped out in front of her.

"Mi chiamo Katrina Swan. Hai visto questo uomo?" I asked with a smile and showed her a picture of the target. "My name is Katrina Swan. Have you seen this man?"

She looked at the picture for a few seconds and then at me for a few more, studying my face and then smiled."Sì, ma dovresti venire con me, posso presentare le ultime persone a vederlo." "Yes, come with me, I can bring you to the people who saw him last.""

I grinned at her, my brown eyes sparkling. "Grande! Devo solo portare I miei amici e possiamo andare." "Great! Stay here, I am going to bring my friends."

She looked startled as I casually walked into the jet and pulled my struggling 'friends' out with me.

I walked back to her and grinned at the strange expression on her face, "Andiamo!" "Let's go!"
