Song: Hot Summer Nights- Miami Sound Machine

"So, Champ. What are you doing tomorrow evening?"

Landon glanced at me before opening the gate to his house. "I'll probably be studying for my chemistry test happening on Monday."

"We really need to discuss your life decisions." He shook his head, chuckling under his breath. "It's a Friday night! Why don't you come to a party with us?"

"I don't think your friends are too fond of me." Landon muttered, walking up the stairs to his front door, and I sighed, sitting in one of the rocking chairs on the front porch.

It had been three days since I suggested Landon joined the group, and while they accepted him, they still weren't very fond of him being a part of our group. Aleck tolerated him because of me, but I could see he didn't like the idea of Landon around me. Drew didn't say much, and Bailey talked to him every now and then. Zack and Dixie were too busy fighting to even remember we had a new member in our group.

"They're warming up to ya, champ. It will get better." I enthused, smiling up at him. "Besides, would it kill you to let loose a little and party on a Friday night? You're only eighteen once."

Landon stared at me for a minute, before he plopped down in the rocking chair beside me and sighed. "I suppose. You're pretty damn good at persuasion."

I smirked, patting his arm. "I told ya, I'm an expert at it."

School on Friday went by fast, and before I knew it, I was at home getting ready for Aleck's party. Aleck threw the best parties, and everybody in the school knew it, so I knew the night was going to be amazing. I slid on a black strapless dress, clasping a necklace around my neck so it hung in between the sweetheart neckline, and paired it with my black pumps. Aleck had decided he wanted everyone to dress formal for his party for once, and I wasn't one to disagree. Every now and then, it was nice to dress up-- not to mention, the way he looked at me when I walked through the doors. I applied make up before I flipped my naturally straight hair on the side and walked out of my house and towards Landon's. I walked up to his porch and sat in the rocking chair, crossing my legs, and two seconds later, Landon walked out. He was dressed in a nice forest green button up and a pair of dark denim jeans.

"Wow, you clean up nice, champ." I complimented, smirking up at him, and he shot me a lopsided smile, glancing at my outfit. Normal guys would let their eyes roam for minutes on end, practically imagining me as a snack, but Landon had so much decency, he only looked long enough to take in my outfit.

"So do you." He smiled again, helping me up. "You look amazing, Kara."

I shot him a smile, and we walked down the stairs. "Thanks. Now it's time for the best night of your life."

We walked out of Landon's neighborhood, through town, and all the way to Aleck's house. His father was extremely rich, just like my mother, so his house was completely satisfactory. When Landon and I rounded the corner towards his house, we could already hear the music pounding from his house, making the ground vibrate, and it would stay that way because his neighbors knew better than to challenge the CEO of nearly every restaurant in our small town. Strobe lights shined through the tall windows of the front of his house, and as Landon and I made our way up to the front door, I noticed some people, completely drunk, out on the front lawn. I was just about to open the door when Aleck beat me to it.

"Hey, baby! You finally made it!" He greeted, shooting me a lopsided grin, and I caught the slightest smell of alcohol on his breath. Aleck eyed up Landon, before his eyes roamed over me, and his arms shot out, pulling me into his chest. Aleck held me tightly against him, one hand on the small of my back and the other wrapped around my shoulder, still eyeing Landon. "And you, pretty boy. I take it you've never been to a party before."

Landon stuffed his hands in his pockets, shifting on his feet. "I have. Lots of them."

Aleck's eyes narrowed as he stared at Landon for another minute. Landon shifted on his feet again, and I could tell he was nervous. I kind of felt bad for him. Something told me he hadn't been to a lot of parties like he said, but he knew Aleck would go to extremities to prove his authority. Why Aleck couldn't just accept him for me, I didn't know.

"Then this should be fun." Aleck finally replied, smirking at Landon, before he turned around, and the three of us walked further into the house. As Aleck led me to the kitchen, I noticed people were dancing in his living room to the music, making out on the couch, drinking, smoking, whatever you could think of. Drew was talking to a tall blonde in the corner of the rec room, and as we walked into the kitchen, I saw Zack leaning against the counter with Bailey attached to his side, but Zack wasn't paying one bit of attention to her. His eyes were locked on Dixie, who was outside sitting around a fire with nothing but guys. I could tell by the way his jaw ticked, he wasn't happy about it, but he knew better than to confront her-- especially when she was so mad at him.

"What will it be tonight, baby doll? Whiskey or Vodka?"

"Make me my favorite and I'll love you forever." I whispered in his ear, pressing a soft kiss against the sensitive part of his ear, and his arm tightened around me. Aleck chuckled as he grabbed a bottle, flipping it in his hand.

"One vodka and coke coming right up." He grabbed a cup before turning back to me, and pressing a long, passionate kiss against my lips. "And I love you too, baby."

Aleck turned around to make my drink, and I faced Landon, smirking. "Take your pick, champ."

Landon eyed the variety of drinks on the counter, before he hesitantly grabbed a beer. He popped off the cap, stared at the bottle, before he took a swig. When he pulled away, his face contorted like he had just ate a lemon, and I laughed under my breath. Landon shook his head before taking another sip.

"Here ya go, baby girl." Aleck's voice flooded my ears as he held my drink in front of me, and I pressed a kiss against his cheek before taking a sip of my drink. Aleck always knew how to make my drink exactly how I liked it, and I was extremely grateful for it. Luckily, I had built up a tolerance for alcohol, so I was in no way a light drunk. But I was definitely an honest one. Aleck wrapped his arms around my waist, burying his head in my shoulder. "Let's go dance."

I nodded, finished off my drink, and faced Landon. He was awkwardly standing there, holding his drink in his hand. When his eyes met mine, I patted his shoulder, smirking. "Go have fun, champ. Don't knock yourself out."

Landon rolled his eyes, smiling, and I took Aleck's hand, leading him into the living room. We danced in sync, his hands wrapped around my waist, mine wrapped around his neck, swaying to the music. Aleck buried his head in the crook of my neck, planting hot, feathery kisses, and my arms tightened around his neck. There was nothing better than a Friday night party, especially when it was at Aleck's house. It was the only time of the month I was genuinely happy.

And to say that night wasn't beyond amazing, would have been an understatement.
