"So, where are we going, like, until Kyle suspects we're gone?" Alicia's sight shot all over the place.

"Hmm...we could go to the park by my house," I suggested. "Or maybe-"

"Maybe I could introduce you to my mum and dad!" she cut me off, excitedly jumping around at her idea.

"Ooh, let's do it!" I mimicked the protégé's excited dance, causing the two of us to laugh.

"Hey! There they are! Get 'em!" a familiar voice yelled from afar. 'Fuck...it's him...'

"Oh no! It's Kyle and Morgan!" the now panicked girl turned to face me with slight fear in her eyes. "What do we do?!"

     "Run."

And with that one word of encouragement, Alicia and I sped off, leaving the two male coroners in the dust. This was going to be hard, extremely hard, since Kyle and Morgan had the advantage of a vehicle. But regardless of our situation, us birthday twins ran as if our lives depended on it, not even bothering to care whether we made fools of ourselves. 'I can't let Kyle win- again. He'll think that he's the king of the homicide division...'

The revs of an engine came from behind us, and seconds later, Alicia and I heard the sound of the morgue van speeding in our direction. Our feet picked up speed, and being a fucking idiot, I ran off on in a different direction, without even realizing that I had left Alicia for dead, well...more like leaving her for capture. 'Dan you retard! Why would you ditch Alicia??? Now it's gonna be easier for Kyle to find and catch you!' my mind panicked, forcing me to think on my feet. Starbucks.

I looked all around, praying that there was some type of store near me, one that didn't involve me having to run or sprint a long distance. There it was, my life saver- McDonalds, a small one around the corner, one that could easily be missed by a rushing eye. 'Sorry, Alicia,' I stared back in the short distance, watching as Kyle and Morgan were talking to her. 'Oh wow, thought they'd tie her up...or blind fold her.' Everything seemed to be calm, but my legs hesitated to walk to them; and my gut instinct felt something was wrong- it was too calm.

And with the flash of silver, my eyes grew with shock as Detective Orton suddenly shot out of the back of the van, handcuffing my birthday twin. 'Fuck...I'm so fucked...' Fear consumed me and my feet swiftly took me into the corner McDonalds. Sure, it was probably just a prank, but the thought of being put in handcuffs was...scary. It only brought back the horrible nightmares of 2014, when Will was convicted and sentenced to life in prison without parole. Things have indeed changed, no doubt about that.

"Hello sir, what would you like?" I faced the man at the counter.

"Just a regular black coffee, no cream and no sugar, please," I looked back, nervously scanning the streets and sidewalks for Alicia's "kidnappers", before paying for my drink, and heading to a corner seat in the small restaurant. 'Just in case...' my hands flipped my hoodie over the top of my head, adjusting it so that my signature quiff wouldn't be seen by my colleagues. This trip to McDonalds wasn't for relaxing, it was for hiding from the crazy Kyle Simmons. I sighed and lifted the coffee cup to my lips, flinching slightly as the hot liquid made contact with my lips; at least it quenched my thirst.

Then, out the small window, I spotted the three (well four) walking down the sidewalks, shouting and hollering my name without being shaken down by embarrassment. 'Those three dudes are crazier than I thought,' I chuckled quietly, shaking my head. Alicia wasn't even trying to give away my position, what a loyal teen. They passed the corner McDonalds, not even thinking to go inside and search, but when the four of them strolled past my spot, my eyes met with my birthday twin's and she glanced to her right, before mouthing "they don't know where you are, but they're planning some weird," and quickly ran off to catch up with the abductors.

'Just when I thought I could have a peaceful birthday,' I frowned.

     PING!

Tension and anxiety built as I hastily dug out my phone, quickly unlocking it without seeing the message previews.

Kyle (aka Cat-Obsessed Freak): Come to the morgue if you don't want anything to happen to my protégé. 😏

Me: You bastard. 😑

Kyle (aka Cat-Obsessed Freak): Or else I'll show everyone (and I mean everyone) the video of you being an inchworm 😁

Me: How the fuck did you find that??? 😡

Kyle (aka Cat-Obsessed Freak): Detective Orton has his ways of interrogating...Ciao! 🙃

I angrily finished my cup of coffee, and took off my hood as I stormed out of the small McDonald's. It was a joke, but it slightly angered me to see Alicia handcuffed by my own colleagues. At least she wasn't suffering. 'I'm on my way.' And so, my mission to save my birthday twin was now underway.
