Thump, thump, thump.

I could hear my heart beating loudly as I curled my red tainted lips into a sinister smirk.

Most eighteen year old girls would be petrified to be in my situation, to have their whole life hanging by a thread.

However, I'm not most girls, and I know better than to show my fear. I know that people like Kade Adornetto smell fear like sharks smell blood, and that people  like him feed purely off of it.

I leave behind any anxiety I felt about the situation at hand at the door and confidently stroll into the packed club. My blood pulses with adrenaline as numerous eyes follow me. As I sit down at the bar I flip my dark red hair over my shoulder, consciously glancing around the room. Please nobody recognize me, I thought to myself.

Throughout the midst of party goer's and strobe lights a pair of eyes from the terrace overlooking the club meet mine. For one thing I know that anyone seated in the VIP section has to have some connection to the mystery man I so desperately needed to find, so figuring that this man was my best shot at finding some information out about my fathers enemies I send him a sultry look and lift my glass. He was quite handsome, but also quite young. He couldn't have been more than five years older than me, which made me doubt his importance to my father's rival gang. Now I know what you're thinking, that I'm here on a job for my father. Well actually I'm here for the complete opposite. I'm here to take him and my family down before they quite literally murder me ; and they say white people have no culture.

The young man made his way downstairs as he nodded to a large group bodyguards surrounding him. I was grateful that tonight of all nights I dressed to impress, wearing a black long sleeved body con dress and black stilettos. Hey, if I'm going to die, I'm going to die in style bitches. The mystery man approached me and I did a double take at just how crazy hot this guy was, which made me even more mad that I was here to potentially save my life and to not properly meet this fine piece of ass. I'm charming, I know.

Putting on my best, "I have nothing but innocent intentions" face I confidently walked up to Mr. hottie, giving him a once over as if I hadn't totally just ogled over him. Amusement and intrigue filled his hazel eyes as he offered me his hand that I shook properly.

"It's not to often you see girls walk in here in more than a three inch dress looking nearly as good as you do." he whispered in my ear as I attempted to keep my composure in front of this Armani clad man, I mean seriously what guy wears an Armani suit to a club? Obviously I misjudged his position, this might be easier than I thought it would be.

"Well most girls aren't me." I remarked with a smirk. I couldn't see any emotions in his eyes, as it seemed he was trained very well just like me, to keep them stone cold and questionable. I was impressed to say the least.

He chuckled before leaning in closely and whispering, "The one and only Blair Potreva? In an Adornetto club?"

Shock flowed through my veins at lightning speed as he grabbed my arm and pulled me closer and before I even had a second to think of a reply I realized that there were numerous guards surrounding us with their guns loaded and ready. Well, shit. Obviously I planned on explaining who I was at some point of the night, but not like this. Now I have no shot at explaining myself, not that any girl with my last name would, but I've been told I'm quite persuasive. However if I hadn't been so naive to think I wouldn't be recognized immediately I would've had the chance to put my charm at play and show what I had to offer.

Not willing to give up I flashed a charming smile up at the young man, not showing any trace of fear in my eyes. "Wow, have we met before? Well any who, before you have one of those hormone filled rhino's blow out my brains, I have some information that I think would be of use to you." I said quietly, making sure no one surrounding us could hear.

Lifting an eyebrow he chuckled in amusement as I grew frustrated, "And why would I trust you? I knew you Potreva's were persistent but I didn't think Svet would be stupid enough to send his little princess into a pit of lions." Disgust became evident on my face at the mention of my father.

"I am not here for Svet, and I have proof. I know his plans and if you have half the brains I think you do you'll at least give this to Kade Adornetto." I said flashing an innocent grin as I held up a USB. Amusement filled his eyes as he started laughing uncontrollably. Annoyed I snapped my fingers hoping to get this pest's attention.

His laughter simmered down and as soon as he replied my whole body stilled and my blood ran cold.

"Honey, I am Kade Adornetto. If you think for one minute that I'm taking this bullshit bate you're in for a-", He was immediately cut off as the sound of gunshots and blood curling screams blared through the room.

"Shit!" I cursed as I immediately ducked and reached for my gun that was stealthily hidden in my purse. However before I even had a chance to make a run for it one of Kade's huge rhino looking guards yanked me forward refusing to let me get away. He hadn't even dragged me half way across the room when I saw one of my father's men point towards me and shout loudly.

Whatever he said became incoherent to me as I felt something puncture my lower abdomen and I felt myself becoming dreary.

Thump thump thump.

I heard my blood pulse, as a sense of relief flooded within me.

My plan had worked, my father had taught me well.
