"i will be handing out your results from yesterday's test.", mr. hwang instructed, handing out papers. mr. hwang gave me a look as he handed me my paper. i already know i got a bad score.

* * *

"c'mon! 73 isn't that bad, y/n.", my friend, seohyun assures, patting my back.

"just shut your smartass.", i shut her up. "ugh.", i complain, knowing how my mom worries about my grades.

"you know, mr. hwang set up that tutoring session. he could tutor you. you should sign up.", seohyun mentions.

"i could. but then i won't be able to focus.", i reply, seohyun nodding her head, knowing what i had meant.

about a month ago, i had confessed to mr. hwang, and our teacher to student relationship got uncomfortable, since he left without an answer. but it was all good. i still liked him, but we kept our distance.

"i mean if you really want better grades, you should at least try signing up for the tutoring session.", she suggests.

"maybe, i don't know yet."

saturday

i was laying comfortably on the bed in my totoro pajamas when i heard a knock.

"y/n? i have someone that i want you to meet.", i could hear my mom.

"okay.", i reply, heading over to the door. "who did you want me to—mr. hwang?"

"he'll be tutoring you starting today, and after school as well.", my mom told me, my mouth agape.

"ahh. there's no need.", i say, turning red as mr. hwang scanned me in my totoro pajamas.

"y/n. you should be thankful. he's the one that offered to tutor you!", my mom retorted excitedly.

"but i don't need on—"

"y/n, yes you do. your math grade is 73, science 75, and geography with a 72.", mr. hwang reminded.

"it's not like i don't know that.", i sarcastically remark.

"well, i'll leave you to it, mr. hwang.", my mom patted his back, walking downstairs.

"nice choice of fashion.", mr. hwang commented, heading in my room.

"shut up, minhyun.", i close the door.

"yah! are you not using honorifics?", minhyun takes a seat on my bed.

"shut up, mr. hwang.", i curtsy.

"just call me oppa.", he smirked.

"what the hell, no. anyways, get on teaching.", i took a seat on my swivel chair in front of minhyun.

"well, for the first lesson. i'll have to teach you about your attitude.", he growls, pulling my swivel chair closer to him that our knees were touching. i blush.

"y/n. why are you blushing, huh?"

"oh my god. just teach. you're practically trying to fail me.", i complain, swiveling away.

"wait. so do i do this, then do this?", i ask in confusion.

"aiish. no you do this, then that.", he corrects.

"ohhh. okay.", i bite my pencil. whilst working, minhyun was staring at me intently. i had started sweating.

"why are you staring at me?", i look up.

"you're actually pretty.", he flatters. shit.

"as if i didn't know that already.", i clap back, going back to my homework. i acted as if everything was okay, but i was legit screaming inside.

"oh. there's a strand.", he tucks the strand of hair behind my ear.

"okay. cut to the chase. you don't like me. if you keep doing this and playing with my feelings, i can't focus.", i finally speak up.

"i like you.", he answered.

"w-what?"

"i like you.", he repeats.

"no, you do—"

* * *

i sat there, frozen. mr. hwang had interrupted me with a kiss. we pulled away.

"w-what was that?", i breath out.

"i like you. and we're gonna have a lot of fun in our tutoring sessions.", he winked.

what just happened?
