Six years ago I met my best friend. When Emberley and I met, I didn't know that six years from then we would still be friends. When Emerley's brother was diagnosed with cancer, I did some thinking of what I could do to help. I made custom potholders and sold them to friends, family, and even teachers. I raised over $800 for her family to help pay for medical bills. Today, we are not just friends, I would consider her my sister.
It was my senior year in high school, and the class of 2018 voted me to be the most successful. I had a 4.0 GPA, was student council president, and a full ride to Yale for track. The small town of Silverton and myself had high hopes for my future. Everyone in my town knew who my family and I were. They even knew some things that I didn't even know about my family. Other than my neighbors being creeps towards my family and I, I know for sure that I will be going to Yale next year.
During my Senior Spring Break, some friends and I went on a road trip and we were having fun jamming out to some music, and the sun shining as if it was a big lightning bolt shooting through the sky. We were having a great time with each other. We were still paying attention to the road, not even a second into the song we were flying through the air. We had no idea what happened. There were no cars, trucks, or other vehicles near us to make us go flying off the road. It was a mystery to us, of what happened.
Two months later I woke up from a shooting pain in every inch of my body. My parents were in my room with me every second of the day. As soon as my parents saw me move from the first time in months, they came running over to me. When they got to me I was already asleep. My parents paged the doctors as soon as they heard me. The doctors came running in and my parents started asking questions to them the minute the came into the room.
The next day the doctor woke me up to talk with me. I didn't want anything to do with my doctor, all I wanted were my friends. When my mom came over to me, I asked her if Emberley, Olivia, and Brinley were ok, she didn't answer me. I asked again, and once again my mom didn't answer me. It was like she was hiding something from me. So when my doctor came back over to talk, I asked him; Dr. Woo, he told me he'll tell me later.
