Lou always found it incredibely amusing and ironic that Mason could play almost any instrument except for a guitar much to his chagrin. Mason was talented since he was a young child. He played the clarinet, piano and flute but once it was an instrument with strings it just didn't work.

And he was quite a sore loser. When he was thirteen he talked his parents into buying him a guitar and he started learning. But he never got further than a few tones. However he never once gave up. He was famous for his stubbornness and so he practiced. All day, all night and again. In the end he managed to learn one song. Old lullaby that his gradmother used to sing to him before bed.

Mason never smiled so happy and carefree as then. Even when his fingers were bleeding and blisters were forming on them. He never looked happier. And the scars on his fingers are still there to remind him of his success.
