"Honey, we're almost at the house."

I lifted my head up just in time to see a two story baby blue house with a white picket fence. I was so ready for a new start and a new beginning.

'What you think Amy?', my mom said.

"It's nice, Mom. Much nicer than our last one."

The car came to a complete stop in our new driveway.  I hopped out the car and looked around.

"Help me with the boxes, honey."

We walked in the house with shock written all over our faces. The house was much more beautiful in the inside than the outside. We got all the boxes into the house and started unpacking. Mom had the furniture delivered three days ago, so it wouldn't be problem unpacking.

I toured the house a bit before going to pick my room. The living room was comfy with Lazy Boy recliners and couches. A huge fireplace took up one side of the wall. Drapes covered the windows letting just the smallest amount of sunlight seep through. Walking through the rest of the house, I jumped back when I heard a loud thump. I turned around and release my breath slowly. Luckily.... it was just a box that tilted over. The kitchen was much bigger with a walk in pantry and a double door refrigerator.

The house was everything one could possibly dream of and more. I walked up the stairs and looked at each room. I saw a master bedroom with a queen sized bed. I continued to look, deciding to leave that room to my mom. After all, she did deserve it. I picked the bedroom further down the hall. It was pretty much the same as my mom's too.

I went back downstairs and carried my boxes up to my room. I started to unpack my clothes and put them in the closet. I laid down on my bed after I was finished. We came here to start a clean streak. Nothing more nothing less.

"Amy come downstairs!"my mom yelled.

"Coming!"

I looked down over the stairs to see my mom finishing up the kitchen.

"Honey, we have to go shopping."

"For what mom?"

"You start school tomorrow."

Ignoring my sigh of frustration she grabbed the car keys and rushed me out the house. She typed in the nearest mall into the GPS and we were on our way. This town was really big with lots of places tourists can stop and visit.

When we got to the mall, we found our way to a clothing store. I walked around and pick up a couple of polo shirts and some jeans since the weather was hot.

I jumped when I felt someone grab my shoulder.

"Honey, are you okay?"

"Yeah mom I thought you were....you were him."

"Honey it's okay, you won't have to worry about him anymore."

I gave her a genuine smile and we went to pay for our items. We rode back to the house in silence. I carried the bags up to my room and waited on tomorrow.

****************

I went to my locker I was assigned and put my jacket in.

Well, here goes nothing.

I walked into my first class of the day and found a desk in the far back. A few minutes later the teacher came in signaling the kids to be quiet.

"Get out your textbooks and turn to page 206", the teacher said.

I heard giggles coming from across from me.

"Look what the cat dragged in."

"A nerd."

I put two and two together and caught on that they were talking about me. I ignored it until class was over.

"Dork"

"Nerd."

I kept my head down until I heard a boys voice.

"Hey, knock it off!!!!"

The girls turned bright red with embarrassment and left the room.

"Hey, I'm guessing you're new here."

"Yeah," I said shyly.

"I'm Tyler."

"Amy."

"Nice name. And you don't have to worry about them," he said smiling.
