---Narrator---
CRASH!!!!! Jeyson had just crashed into a freshman. His books went flying around the hall. This girl was named Brie.
"Oh I'm so sorry! Let me help you with those!" Brie said politely, starting to pick up the books.
"Oh no, it's totally my fault. I apologise. Are you okay?" Jeyson replied, gathering the books from her hands.
"Yes I'm okay. My name is Brie, I'm a freshman." She said with a smile.
"Gods, she's pretty." Jeyson thought.
"I'm...Jeyson." He said
"Nice to meet you Jeyson. Where are you headed?" Brie said, smiling brightly now.
"Ummm...gym." Jeyson replied, flipping his hair and fixing it.
"Oh okay. I'm heading that way to get to my Algebra class. I'll walk you." Brie said.
Jeyson smiled and nodded, walking alongside Brie, but in a deep state of thought.
---Jeyson POV---
Why did she help me? She's so kind and sweet, but the bump was totally my fault. I don't get it. At least she was nice about it. I thought it was going to be the same reaction as everyone else. "Get out of my way, you dyke!" Or "Watch where you're going, you little whore!". Ugh...why can't people just learn to shut up?!?
---Narrator---
"Are you okay?" Brie said.
Jeyson wiped away some tears that were filling his eyes. "Umm..yeah, I'm fine." He said.
Brie looked concerned. "Are you sure?"
"I said I'm fine. Back off." Jeyson said in a stronger tone.
"If you say so. Well, here's the gym....listen Jeyson, I think you're really cool, and I would like to hang out with you sometime. Are you free today after school?"
"No I have band after school."
"Okay, How about Friday after school? We can meet up and I'll take you to one of my favourite parks. I think you'll like it there." Brie suggested.
Jeyson smiled a little. "I'd like that. So Friday after school?"
"Yep. I'll meet you at 4 pm at the Corner Store on 34th and Howard Avenue."
Jeyson nodded. "Got it. Well, thank you."
"No problem. Bye!!! Brie said as the bell rang and she started running to class.
Jeyson stared at her before he was interrupted.
"Lets go, Jessica! You've gotta do your warmups!" Mr Harrison, the gym teacher said. Jeyson nodded and went to the locker room, reluctant to change clothes.
---Brie POV---
Jeyson is so cool. He's sweet and caring, but he's so skiddish and shy too. I knew something was up with him, but I didn't want to bug him. I also saw something on his arm when he picked up his books. It was pink, but was also starting to fade. It looked like self-harm if I remember correctly. But honestly, I'm friends with a few 10th graders, and with all of the stuff he gets on a daily basis from people here, I can see why. I get it sometimes too, but I've never self-harmed. I guess I'm just lucky. Being a trans girl myself isn't the best either. But I was lucky enough to start my transition at 11 years old. Given hormones, the clothing, and support from my family. I guess I'll just have to help Jeyson with his transition. Which I don't mind doing. But I'm also gonna wait until he tells me. He'll be most comfortable at that point whenever it may be.
