"You know you may as well go ahead and get out." Keisha said while laughing.

I got out and helped her with her bags.

"Well hey girls! I didn't think you were coming back home!" Juliette said as she hugged us both. She seems like she's in such a good mood. For her to be this happy Mr.Ridgeway must not be here.

When we went inside I helped Keisha put her things away. As I was helping her, my bladder started getting too full. I had to use the bathroom. While I was in there, I started feeling awful. So awful that I had no choice but to puke in the toilet. I assume Juliette heard me, because she knocked on the door.

"Adrianna is everything okay in there?"

I quickly flushed the toilet then tried my best to clean myself up before opening the door. A fake smile embraced my face.

"Yeah. Everything's... good in here. Why wouldn't it be?"

She started smiling.

"Why wouldn't it be? Because you were throwing up that's why!" She started laughing.

I slightly raised my eyebrow at her causing her to laugh more. Who gets happy when another person gets sick.

She put her hand on her face, letting her smile fade away.

"I'm sorry baby. You just don't know how ready I am to have grandchildren!"

I let out a hard gasp as she put her hand on my belly.

"Wha- wai- but but..."

"A mother knows Adrianna. And plus I've been having some out of wack dreams. You don't wear the cute outfits you would wear. Now you mostly wear dresses. I can see the change in your weight. YOU'RE PREGNANT! Oh. But this will ruin the surprise Raheem had for you. He wanted to pop the question but now it's gonna seem like h-"

"MA! REALLY?!"

Juliette and I both jumped when we noticed Raheem standing behind her.

"Mom, what secret can you keep?"

"Oh!" She laughed. "Well there is one about your father. He can't go to the bathroom wi-"

She stopped mid sentence. "Ah, I see what you did there. That was real cleaver son. I like that."

He gave her a long, silent, blank stare before looking me in my eyes.

"Adrianna we need to talk."

He seems mad. I just know he is. But maybe he won't be once I explain to him why I tried to keep my pregnancy to myself for a while.

He took my hand then lead me downstairs and out on the patio.

He took a seat, but I simply stood by the door with my head down. Neither one of us said anything for at least three minutes.

"How long?"

"How long wh-"

"Adrianna do not play with me. How long have you known you were pregnant?"

"For umm... just three weeks. Raheem I am two, close to three months. I know you might have your doubts but I promise the baby is yours."

He shook his head. "Adrianna you are really unbelievable sometimes. The fact that you'd even think that I would deny you is just a fuckin' shame. My health issues doesn't make it impossible for me to get you pregnant. I know that, I'm not stupid."

I walked over to him and sat in his lap, with tears running down my face.

"Please don't be mad at me Raheem! That's not the only reason why I haven't said anything. I'm scared. I never told anyone, but I have had a miscarriage before. It was such a scary thing to go through. I just wanted to make sure the baby's development was progressing before I let anyone know about it. It's not that I was afraid you'd deny me. I am just truly afraid."

He wrapped his arms around me, lessening the tension between us. His hand slowly and gently rubbed against the fabric of my dress, causing my baby bump to show.

"Stressing yourself out about what you thing might happen won't help you or our baby Adrianna. Not only am I your man, but I am your best friend. You should always feel comfortable enough to come to me and tell me things like this. I'm not a woman but even I know that no pregnancy is the same. That's true with most things actually. But Adrianna, I love you. I am going to be here for you every step of the way. I promise."

He softly kissed my lips.

"I love you so much Raheem." I hugged him around his shoulders.

He rubbed my back. "I love you too Adrianna."
