"Should I do a flip?"

"NO!" Oliver shouts from the ground. I take a few steps back before I run for it, flipping forward and off Bryce's roof and into the pool.

"Babe that's not funny," Oliver says when I resurface. I pull myself out of the pool and walk over to him, kissing his cheek.

"Don't knock it til you try it, Ollie. The adrenaline rush you get up there is -" I was cut off for the splashing of Jade jumping from the roof as well.

From Bryce's backyard, you can see the skyline of downtown LA. Ever since we were 16, Jade, Bryce, and I have been jumping from the roof into the pool. When we're stressed, when we're sad, when we're happy... bottom line, we like to jump off the roof. Ever since I started dating Oliver six months ago, he has yet to try it.

"Jade can we talk?" I say once she gets out of the water.

"Of course, yeah," she says. She follows me in through the back door of Bryce's.

"What's up?"

"I got the job. I'm not telling Oliver." I say bluntly. I glance out at Oliver, who is motioning for Bryce to not jump. He doesn't listen, either.

"What are you going to do if he finds out?" She asks. I shrug in response.

"It's not like I need to have sex with anybody. I'm a stripper. Not a prostitute. It's not cheating if I'm going to be bringing in hundreds a night by just getting naked."

"I'm not saying the job is wrong, Ro. I don't care how you make your money girl, I fully support you. But not telling Ollie?" She gives me the look at the end.

"I know. Maybe I'll tell him... just not yet."

Prepping for my first night was... terrifying. A girl, who I learned is named Shasta, helped me with me hair. She's worked here for three years and also started at 18.

"Flaunt what you got sister, you're blessed that this is natural," she laughs as she teases my hair.

"What's it like out there? How do you even use the pole?"

"Oh we'll teach you that when it isn't a full house. For now, we'll put you on drinks."

"Drinks?" I ask.

"Yeah, you'll be dressed like us but you'll walk around and offer drinks. You can give dances too, if you get comfortable." She smiled, setting down the blow dryer. All of this was too much for me.

"Go get em tiger!"

I head out nervously onto the floor, my eyes scanning the room as the music bumps through the room. Where do I start? What am I doing?

I walk over to the bar, waiting for the girl behind the counter to notice me.

"You must be the new girl. Here's a menu; go around and ask the men if they want drinks."

I take a menu and walk around, starting at the far end of the room. Of course, being this exposed in a room full of horny drunk men was a little overwhelming, but it would pay off in the end. I went to the bar and grabbed his order, only to turn around and bump directly into someone.

"Oh I'm so sorry!" He apologizes, looking down at the shattered glass.

"No, it isn't your fault that I'm an idiot." I sigh, my cheeks heating up. I look up and my heart nearly stops when I see who it is. It's the guy from yesterday with the Range Rover. Jack.

"You look familiar." He states.

"Do you come here often?" I ask, beginning to pick up the glass.

"Maybe a little too often. But I've never seen you here. Not inside, at least."

So he caught me staring yesterday.

"Oh.. right." I laugh.

"What do I have to do to get a dance?" He asks. Wow, straight forward.

"Uh.."

"Is ten good?"

"Ten dollars?" I laugh. Now I'm no expert, but I don't think that's right.

"No. Ten thousand dollars."
