Chapter 10: Sorting It Out

Danny
"You didn't do anything. It's just that you caught me by surprise when you hugged me. I wasn't expecting it at all." I sheepishly smiled at him and stepped back.
"Oh well, if that's it then. I apologize for making you uncomfortable, farewell my lady." He smiled and walked past me to get to his house.
I took a deep breath to calm my heart down. I'm never doing that again.

Ash
I had to sort things out, I thought when I entered my room.
Did I like her or not?
I heard my phone go off with my unmistakable ringtone, but I turned it off I didn't feel like talking to anyone right now.
She was cute, funny, and nice too, but I guess I had just gotten used to her as a friend or maybe I just didn't want to hurt her.
Either way, I knew I couldn't like her.

Danny
I knew I liked him, but I don't think he liked me. I had to admit that it hurt a little, but it was just a guy and I needed to earn some new life experiences.
I decided that I should probably FaceClock Justice.
Her face appeared on the screen. She always thought that she wasn't pretty, but she had no idea how beautiful she was.
"Yo. Who died?" She said while eating Doritos and drinking lemonade.
"No one, but I think my heart cracked."
"Was it Ash?" She said.
I nodded and she exited the screen and came back with a pillow and buried her face in it and screamed in frustration.
"Sorry. He's killing my ship. What did that idiot do this time?"
"He kind of called me a friend after all of his flirting and all."
"Oh my lord. He friend zoned you... it's okay you'll be fine. He was an insufferable airhead anyways." She sighed.
I nodded.
"You still like him don't you." She annoyingly sighed.
I nodded once again.
"I honestly don't know. I can't even figure out Algebra. I don't know anything about boys. I'm sorry, but I'm here if you need me!" She smiled.
I smiled back and hung up.
I flopped onto my bed, exhausted from the thinking and all. Boys suck.

Ash
My phone rung for the fifteenth time this hour and I decided to just pick it up. "Hello?"

"Hey Ash, the audition material's out so I suggest you start working on it. Pick up your stupid phone next time! See ya loser!" With that he hung up.

I sighed, and buried my face in a pillow and said, "I don't like her, I don't like her, I. Don't. Like. Her." Maybe I do, but if I actually liked her then I needed to protect her from myself. I can't break her heart. It would haunt me to break the heart of someone as amazing as her. I mean that she was cute, she was really funny, she was smart, and she was nice too. She was downright beautiful okay? I couldn't break her heart. Even if I didn't want to, I knew I would. Nature had programmed me that way.
