UNLIKE A FRESH START, THIS IS SET AFTER NAKED AND DURING DIVA. HOWEVER, THERE MIGHT BE EVENTS FROM THE SHOW MENTIONED.

It was a rather weird moment. Standing in front of the school, my eyes lingering on the brick building.

This was my first day at a public high school. And by the looks of it, William McKinley High School was going to be interesting.

"Belly, you ready?" I turned, seeing my older brother Blaine skip towards me.

I rolled my eyes at his childish behaviour. He seemed so comfortable here. He never hid behind a mask, he was content.

"Ready as I'll ever be." I responded.

Tightening my grip on my bag, I rested a hand on Blaine's arm and entered the door.

The hallways were a commotion. People were shoving each other and laughing, others gossiped loudly and texted. To put it simply, there were a lot of people.

"There are a lot of people here." I whispered, voicing my thoughts.

"You'll be fine. Hey Sam!" A tall blonde skipped his way up to us, and I recognised him almost instantly.

"Annabelle! It's good to see you." Sam chirped. I nervously smiled back at him, my hand clenching around my bag strap. I bet my knuckles were translucent white at this point.

"You too Sam."

Blaine flung his arm around me, jiggling me playfully before walking off with Sam.

"Thanks a lot, big bro." I muttered sarcastically under my breath.

I was registered in school earlier, so there wasn't the need to embarrass me even further. I stood there for a second, before pulling out the piece of paper with my locker number on it.

Mumbling under my breath, I bit my lip and held the slip up to my face. I wasn't used to my contacts yet, so I had to blink a few times.

After blindly stumbling around for a minute or so, I found an identical number.

"Thank god." I whispered.

With shaking hands I fiddled with the lock. It came open with a swing, empty and smelling of pen ink and socks.

I crinkled my nose. So this was the smell of high school.

Quickly and quietly I began to shove binders into my locker, trying to be as incognito as possible.

As my fingers curled around the last patterned book in my bag, the locker door slammed shut. I yelped, releasing the book and jumping in fright. A short blonde, marginally taller than me, in a cheerleading uniform stood in front of me with a smirk.

"Well, look what we have here. Fresh meat." she said with a sickly sweet smile.

I didn't say anything, just rapidly blinked in fear.

"Does it not speak?" someone said from behind her. The girl smirked, turning her head to send a look to the group of cheerleaders that appeared behind us.

"What's your name, nerd?" She asked, her ponytail swinging.

"I-I..." I managed to stutter out, absolutely paralysed in fear.

"Kitty! What did we say about talking to new students?" I looked over, seeing two boys and a girl walking towards us.

My breath caught in my throat as they approached 'Kitty' and I. One of the boys was holding the hand of the girl, the other walking beside them. And he was attractive. Like, really attractive.
