Eden Pov.
"Jermaine " I said looking up at him "what you doing here ?" He asked letting me in locking the door
"I...I just don't know what to do anymore ! " I said breaking down for the first time in forever
"Just tell me what you need , I got you." He said taking a seat beside me "help me ." I said wiping a falling tear
"What happened ?" He asked looking into my eyes "I left .. why did I leave I'm so stupid . I have to go ." I said standing up
"Eden sit down ." Jermaine said grabbing my hand "he's going to come looking for me , I have to go . "
"He ain't gon' be able to find you babygirl and if he do he gotta' get past me first . He can't hurt you no more Eden ."
"Are you sure ?"
"I'm positive now sit down and tell me what's going on ." He said smiling
"I'm scared . All of these years I forgot how to be on my own , what if I embarrass myself even more than he did ? How could I trust myself now after all these years ?" I sighed
"Because you got me . I ain't' letting you go through this by yourself , I'm here no matter what . Eden it's like in reality I don't know you but in my mind I'm your protector , over this year you've helped me overcome an obstacle that I once found impossible so I salute you for that a lot of people would've gave up on me . It may take time but just know that you not in this alone ." He said lifting my chin
I sat staring in his eyes as he stared back , I could tell he was trying to read me but he couldn't I learned years ago to keep my guard up at all times .
"Tell me something babygirl , what made you come here ?" He asked rubbing his chin "I don't even know really ."
"Well since you did , are you hungry? Cheryl made gumbo " he stated
"No I'm fine . I'm actually tired ."
"I got room , stay here ." He said taking my hand
"Oh no I don't want to be a pest ."
"Please .. stay ." He said looking down at me "okay" I said smiling
He led me to a room upstairs and I made myself situated , I didn't plan on telling Jermaine the things that I told him hell I didn't even plan on coming here tonight but I'm happy now that I know that he's here for me.

I woke up refreshed feeling a little better about this new beginning in my life , as I made my way downstairs Jermaine was nowhere in sight so I just walked out to my car to get some clothes for today . When I got back in the house I noticed a letter on the island top with orange juice and a key sitting beside it , I picked it up and it read :
"I had an interview this morning and I didn't want to wake you , I hope you slept good . Take the key and get situated into the house , I'll see you tonight babygirl ."
