Descry

Seth walked back home, his mind cluttered with various thoughts. Upon reaching his house, he found that his parents were still not home.

"Where are mom and dad?" Seth asked his sister.

"They called and said that they will be back tomorrow, they're at a friends' house and have to spend the night there due to bad weather." Answered Amelia.

"It's 8 o'clock, do you want anything to eat?" She asked, looking at the night sky out of the window, "I'm gonna make myself something."

"No... I'm not hungry."

"Okay, if you want anything, I'll be in the kitchen."

"Got it."

Seth lied down on the couch and watched TV while Amelia went over to the kitchen to make something to eat. As Seth was watching his favourite program he felt exasperated because of his tiring hunt for his friend. His eyes gently closed, he heard the wind blowing and the sound of trees and their branches swaying in the wind.

He felt odd and opened his eyes and found himself standing in front of the house. He gazed at the house without an expression, then in the distance, he saw two boys running towards him. He concentrated to focus on their faces and what he saw shocked him.

The boys were him and Joseph when they were looking for the empty plot earlier. Just like in reality the boys stood in front of the plot and were searching intently for a clue. Seth could see the house in place of the empty plot but those boys in the dream couldn't. He saw a blurry figure in the window of the top floor, it seemed as if it was looking at the boys. Everything that happened in the dream was exactly what happened earlier in the day.

"The house was always there..." Seth whispered to himself looking back at the house.

Suddenly, he felt that he was not able to breathe, he struggled to get air, his eyes closed and he collapsed on the ground. He opened his eyes again and saw he was back in reality but was still struggling to get air. Amelia heard him making weak and intangible sounds, trying to scream for help. She rushed over to him and helped him up, he struggled and suffocated but was able to breathe again. He felt dazed and fell unconscious on the couch.

After some hours, he opened his eyes slowly, he had a blurred vision of his room which became more and more clearer as he regained consciousness and found himself on his bed. He saw his sister sleeping with her head on the bedside and understood that she helped him get up to his room. He woke Amelia up, she seemed pretty tired as she opened her eyes but the expression of concern suddenly overtook it.

"Seth, are you okay now?" She asked.

"Yeah... Yeah, I'm fine."

"What happened?"

"It was... nothing." Seth said as he got out of his bed and headed towards the bathroom to refresh himself.

"It sure did seem like nothing." Stated Amelia sarcastically.

"Believe me, it was..."

Seth entered the bathroom and Amelia was standing in the doorway

"Seth, something is going on with you and I need to know what it is!" Demanded Amelia.
