Before I Begin

So I just wanted to try and start a whole new story that is not fanfiction. Okay?

I know it may be hard, but it's worth the try for me of breaking out of the box and get away from this Wonderland Craziness (If you had read my other stories) for a while as my friend says.
This new story is called MCMILLER. That's the name of one of the main characters. Unless I can think of a better name, I will stick with this.

There will be a jump between the past and the present, and I will notify it clearly with the year at the beginning of every time jump.

This story is based on a dream I have made, twice I have to say, on a (or two) very uncomfortable nights (ha ha ha, awkward). Since in one of the conversations in the story, it was said Lincoln was the president, I knew it was the beginning of the 1860s. I was kind of shocked when I find out I was a boy in the dream! (It wasn't too bad or too good)

And now, I would like to list out some important characters in the story.

First, in 2016:

Meghan Walnut, a 16 year old girl also known as Meg in the story. She is heavily based on from one of my characters in a story I originally wrote called 'Detective Observatory' also named Meg Walnut (perhaps the same person). Meg is an art student and also the daughter of a teacher in Brickhall College, Meranda Honey (Yes, I used my pen name. Can't think of anything else).

Suzan Filaro, another 16 year old and a friend of Meg. Also based from a character in 'Detective Observatory' and a classmate of mine, Suzan Fillet. She has a sunny personality and optimistic attitude, also part of the cheerleading squad in Brickhall.

Martha Choker, another 16 year old friend of Meg, also known as Marth. Another character based from my book named Marth Chocolate and a real classmate of mine. She may not be the brainiest of them all, but a total athlete. She is also the daughter of the headmaster in school, Professor Marius Choker.

William Murphy, 16 as well. He goes to the same art class as Meg and has been chasing for her hand since he first saw her. Cousin of Jessica Vandal.

Jessica Vandal, 17. She is the cousin of William and the leader of Brickhall's cheerleading squad.

Meranda Honey, old enough to be Meg's mother and is Meg's mother. She teaches mathematics in Brickhall and lives in a house twenty miles from the school while her daughter stays at the dorms.

Professor Marius Choker, old enough to be the headmaster and Marth's dad. He is Brickhall College's headmaster and Marth's father. The stern headmaster's voice is often heard from the speakers, calling out staff and student's names to meet them in his office.

And then, in 1862:

Dalton McMiller, 16 year old boy and the character mentioned in the title. He is the son of the owners of Brickshaw Villas, a boarding house in Brickshaw. He lives on the 2nd room in the 2nd floor, a whole room by himself. Although he was adopted by his parents, he still has a happy life.

Swanhild Lennet, 16, also known as Swan in the story. Daughter of the washer lady, Heather Lennet who lives in the 4th room on the 6th floor. She is also a friend of Dalton's the sister of Nicholas Lennet. She has a sweet personality and caught many hearts and attention from boys at her age, especially Dalton himself.

Nicholas Lennet, 14, son of Heather Lennet, brother of Swan and a friend of Dalton. The bookworm has a favour of books,  especially Shakespeare.

Willow Marigold, 15, she lives with her sister Ruth and Lily in he 5th room on the 4th floor. Ruth is an adult seamtress and her younger sister Lily was only 10. The sisters live together side by side. Also a friend of Dalton. She is fond of plants and loves working at Jacobson Fields during the afternoon.

Robbie Nelson, 11, son of Professor George Nelson, a poor professor who teaches in the boarding house's study. Robbie lives with his father on the 3rd floor in the 3rd room. The boy loves to  run around everywhere and get into mischief. Cousin of Brandon Zephro and friend of Dalton.

Rosie van Carren, 8, the only kid in the six friends who has both parents by her side (if you don't count Dalton's adoptive ones). The sweet redhead and is all prepared for domestics. Her mother is a washer woman while her father is a cook in the boarding house kitchen. The van Carrens live in the 6th room on the 1st floor. This little girl was the youngest among the group as well.

Lily Marigold, 10, sister of Willow. The Marigold's mother had died after Lily was born and their father had gone to war. Lily was more gentle than Willow and is a loyal friend. Her friends were the Gillian twins, Wyonna and Yvonne. Strangely, Lily has been recently acting weirdly at night. She stayed up and gone out of bed and out of the room out into the chilling darkness of Brickshaw  without any notice or reason. She also claims she had no sense of doing anything like that nor has the problem of sleepwalking.

Brandon Zephro, 18, cousin of Robbie Nelson. Brandon's father Frank was the blacksmith and tinkerer of Brickshaw Villas. The father and son lived in the basement were their workshop sat. Brandon was also a watchmaker and horologist himself, and he was the one who repaired Dalton's locket in the beginning of the story. Also, he is quite smitten with Swan as well.

All of them play an important role in the story. There are still others, but you'll find them out soon. SMILE : )

P.S. I don't know what category this story belongs to, so I pressed General Fiction. If anybody has any idea on it, please tell me.
