Chapter 3 <3

"Yeah, I've never been to a concert let alone a concert rehearsal before." I pondered sinking deeper into Lou's strong embrace.

He buried his face in my hair mumbling something like, "Well today's your lucky day." I giggled and he pulled away from me shooting me a smile. "Your so cute Kenz." He laughed ruffling my hair before walking off to get ready to leave. I stood there absolutely stunned, Louis Tomlinson called me cute, was he being serious? Or was he just joking around? Surely he's just joking. But what if he's not? But he probably is just messing around. It's so hard to tell with that boy, way to go Louis you've messed up my thoughts. I sighed and grabbed my phone checking my messages, not that I'd have any anyway, no one texted me anymore. I smiled when I saw all the boys walk into the room signalling that they were ready to go and followed them to the van.

The trip to the arena was quite long but the boys passed the time by playing eye spy, yes I repeat, eye spy. Those boys act like they're half their age, like little kids! I loved it.

Once we got to the arena the boys ran backstage going through their pre-show routines while I just stood there feeling oddly out of place, "Hi, you must be Kenzie." I heard someone say. I spun around to find a security guard smiling at me, at first I was quite intimidated as he loomed over me and was so big and strong but his smile was sweet enough to let me know that he wasn't going to hurt me.

"Yes, hi." I mumbled quietly becoming all shy for some reason.

"Follow me." He said, I didn't hesitate to do what he said and I followed him through the backstage hallway, past the dressing rooms where the boys were getting their microphones ready and out onto the stage. I looked around in awe, there were so many seats, the place was huge! I imagined the place full of people and wondered how the boys could stand up here each night and perform to so many people without passing out from nerves. I quickly hurried after the security guy who was walking down the steps into the seating area, "Make yourself comfortable and enjoy the show." The guard smirked before walking off.

I plonked myself down on one of the chairs at put my feet up lazily waiting for the boys to come on and rehearse. I examined the stage, it was quite big with all sorts of ramps and platforms for the boys to run on and jump off. They had a big screen on the back wall, which they would most likely use to show pictures or videos, and up the very back of the arena they had a lighting and special effects booth. All in all, it was a very nice setup.

"Alright boys." I heard a voice boom over the loudspeaker that made me jump ten feet in the air and scream. "Err Sorry Kenzie." The voice said and I could hear the boys laughing backstage into their microphones. That was totally not funny, he could've given me a heart-attack! I turned around to see Paul up in the lighting booth speaking into a microphone and waving at me apologetically, I took a deep breath trying to calm my rapidly beating heart and waited for the boys. "Lets start off with One Thing."

The boys walked on the stage waving when they saw me Harry adding in a wink making me blush. He was such a charmer.

"I've tried playing it cool, but when I'm looking at you, I can't ever be brave. Cause you make my heart race." Liam sang his beautiful voice filling the arena captivating me from the first word.

The boys had such beautiful voices, if you thought hearing them sing on the radio was good then hearing them live would leave you completely speechless and amazed.

When it was Louis time to sing he walked straight over to where I was sitting and reached out, cautiously I put my hand in his and he hauled me onto the stage and straight into his arms before leading me to the other boys who began putting there arms around me while they sang. I peered up through the flashing lights at the booth to find Paul sitting there shaking his head with a tiny smile on his face.

"Get out, get out, get out of my head and fall into my arms instead. I don't, I don't, don't know what it is but I need that one thing. You've got that one thing!" They sang ending the song and crying 'Group hug!'

We all stood in the middle of the stage with our arms wrapped around each other like one big family and that's when I realised.

These boys, these 5, amazing, random, funny, amusing, spectacular and very cute boys are my family.

My new family.

I stepped out of the bathroom running my hands through my damp hair and pulling it into a messy side braid, I shoved my hands into the pockets of my hoodie and slipped into my uggs before walking into the living room and sitting down next to Lou who was watching some thriller. Zayn was asleep, Liam had gone to Danielle's and Harry and Niall were in Niall's room playing some computer game.

"Hey Kenz." He mumbled putting his arm around my waist and pulling me so I my back was against his chest.

"Hey." I sighed sleepily snuggling into his chest as he ran his fingers through my hair, "What's up?" I asked.

"I was just thinking about things." He murmured turning off the TV leaving us lying in a comfortable silence.

"What things?" I asked quietly my voice ripping through the silence.

"Don't worry." He sighed before burying his face in my hair.

"Lou." I whispered, "You can tell me."

"I- I can't." He stammered, "Not yet."

"Well, I'm always here." I whispered.

"I know Kenz, I know." He mumbled before switching off the light and falling into a deep and peaceful sleep.

I couldn't help but wonder what he meant... I sighed and closed my eyes feeling completely content and safe in his warm, strong embrace.

There was something about Louis... But I didn't know what yet.

I could feel sleep attacking me and I knew here in Louis arms I wouldn't have a bad dream tonight.
