The apartment was smaller than I thought, It looked bigger on the picture but this would have to do. I'm not going back to that rat hole of my so called parents house! They didn't treat me right. I drag one box, that I'd already brought up from all the stairs since there were no elevators, and put it close to the kitchen area that was barely even a kitchen.

"Here we go!" My best friend Shannon groans as she gets the last two boxes into the apartment.
"I'm hating this place already." She jokes around standing up out of breath.
"Stop it! This place cost me alot of money and you know I needed to get away from my parents." I tell her.

"I know, It's just that now we won't be neighbors anymore." Shannon says in a babyish voice coming towards me to get a hug. I was going to miss her more than I realised. We grew up together and she was always there for me.

When we hugged I could smell her sweet perfume that I bought for her last christmas and I was going to miss smelling it everytime we hugged. Who was I even going to hang out with now? I did hang out with people other than Shannon before but none of them were close, they were all back home in Utah. Who knows what kind of people lived here...

"At least you got a great view." Shannon let go of the hug and walked over to the window.
"Kinda?" She lowers her voice continuing her sentence as I sigh. I was on the fifth floor so there wasn't really anything to see. I sit down on my bed and look around, this was where I was going to live. The apartment was almost only one room. The kitchen area and everything else was separated by a wall, and of course the bathroom was it's own room but that wasn't that big either.

"Okay, I gotta go. You know I have that big final on Monday!" Shannon coos and takes her bag off of the dusty floor. I follow her to the door and give her another hug.
"I'll miss you." I says as we break off the hug.
"I'll miss you too." She walks away with her high heels, waving behind her. I laugh a bit to myself and close the door, but right when I did I saw this tall and handsome, brown haired man with a scruffy beard walking past me with my eyes following his steps. He stops for a sec and I think:

"Shit, He saw me staring!" but he didn't. He takes out a key out of his pocket and opens an apartment door only two away from me. I close my door as fast as I could and let out a huge breath.

"Wow." I sigh to myself and sink down to the floor. It was creepy, I know but he was just so attractive with his long hair in front as he combs it with his fingers pulling it back. It looked like as if he had just come from gym and his arms looked quite toned. I shake my head and smile, this was not the time for me to date. I need to get my life back on track first, as if there it was even on track before...
