"Look, Nia! I got you a new collar!" I yelled to my kitten as I ran through the door of my bedroom.

"Mew?" Nia responded.

I giggled at Nia and walked over to her. I gently unhooked her old, dirty collar and replaced it with a new one. It was all black with two white parallel lines going around it. The name tag was a black heart with white letters spelling out Nia's name.

"Do you like it girl?" I asked while petting her soft head.

"Mew!" Nia responded through purrs of delight.

"Good!" I chuckled.

Nia is my one year old black kitten. She has a white heart  in the center of her back. When I saw her in a box in an alleyway, I just knew she was the one for me. I took her home and we were inseparable since then.

"Hey Nia, wanna go on a walk?" I asked her.

"Mew."

"Imma take that as a yes!" I giggled and picked her up. Knowing its going to be chilly out, I grabbed my white and black scarf. I wrapped the black one around my neck and I wrapped the white one around Nia.

I locked the door and headed down the road towards the park.

The wind began to pick up and I was starting to get worried. I picked up my pace and held Nia tightly against my chest.

I suddenly heard a loud crack and looked up. I screamed as a giant tree branch came falling from a tree, straight towards me.

I didn't have enough time to react as the tree branch hit me in the head, knocking the wind out of me. I feel down and hit my head on the hard ground, instantly feeling blood gush out of my head.

I wheezed and looked down in my arms, seeing Nia squished between my arms and the tree branch. I looked at her more closely and what I saw made me cry even harder than I already was. Nia wasn't breathing.

I gasped and wheezed for air one last time before it all stopped.

"K..a? Wa.. u.!"
"Ki.a!"
"Kiya! Wake up!"

I gasped and bolted upwards.

"That's it, breath." A voice said at my side.

I breathed heavily like the voice said.

"W...Where am I? Who are you?" I asked, regaining my breath. I turned my head to the side, looking for the source of the voice. I found it, or should I say, I found her. The voice was a girl, looking to be 15 or so. She had neon pink hair that was in pigtails at the side of her head. She was extremely pale, almost gray. She was wearing a neon pink shirt and jean short-shorts. She was also wearing knee-high black and dark pink stripped socks and flat ankle boots. And by the looks of it, she had neon red colored eyes!

"Oh, you're in Solan! And I'm Rosemary! That over there is Sapphire, my twin!" The mystery girl, Rosemary, answered.

I looked at the end of the bed and, sure enough, I saw another girl. She looked exactly like Rosamary, but instead of all the neon pink, she was wearing all neon red. She also had her hair in a simple fish tail. Her eyes were neon pink, though.

"Solen? What's that?" I asked.

"Well, Solan is a place where dead people go-"

"What?!"

"-to find they're loved ones then pass into Heaven or Hell. Mortals call it the limbo."

"So...I'm dead...?" I asked in disbelief.

"Well, yes." Sapphire replied.

"And, uh...what does that make you two?" I asked kinda scared.

Rosemary was quick to respond with, "Well, we're Reapers, of course! We're good ones, though! We help the lost souls find their loved ones, or anything they lost when they died, and we then send them on they're way to Heaven or Hell! It's simple, really!"

It took awhile for all of it to sink in, and when it did, I passed out.

"Dammit, not again...Ugh she hasn't even met Ranna yet..."

"Stop swearing Sapphy!"

"Stop calling me Sapphy, Rosy." I heard Sapphire and Rosamary argue, right before everything was silent once again. I didn't even know I could pass out when I'm dead!
