Robyn VonGress is now Robyn Drady hidden gem writer on the run with a forbidden blog. With her unfortunate luck she is discovered inside a coffee shop owned by one of two of the only friends she has known for a little under 10 years. Building that life had been hard with a very for filling friendship at the end. Now it was time to leave once again.
PI Dan Gerred was hired to find former wife of Helder VonGress. He was of a strong minded person. He did his job asked no question. And he couldn't complain about the pay. However after watching her for a week. Something just didn't sit well with him about the shy no life writer nerd that sat in the coffee shop. He has been doing his job for years. This may very well break his perfect record.
How it starts...
My fuzzy hair sits like a poof of smoke on top of my head, bounded by a band and scarf. I have a stone necklace and old bracelet I receive from a good friend not too long ago. My big worded t shirt waits to annoy anyone willing to read it. It screams "Warning I'm allergic to pervs reading my breast." While working I cover such a shirt with a small clothed long sleeved jacket. My pants are so long that it slouches over my laces. It does it's job making me look shorter than I am. As a writer I don't get out much but as it seems my internet has ruined the comfort of working from home.
I don't do the extra effort to dress for Stark Buys Coffee shop it was as much as home to me as the crummy studio apartment I have.
It wasn't hard to figure that I wanted to be left alone. I wore headphone the big ones that screams "Get lost." even had Toxicity blasting to penetrate the decor cafe music poor Frank is forced to play by regulation. I sat in a corner facing the the audience of the cafe. It was like I was speaking to them and no one was paying me any attention. Not like I wanted any but I was pretty hard to miss.
Of course I'd get the occasion G.A.G glance and giggle. Some lasted a little longer than my comfort would stand. Only then did I stare back with a middle finger in my pupils. They turn tail and run with their lovely espresso I won't be able to afford until Friday morning. When I finally turn in the final chapter to Jeeves my editor. He and Frank were my only connections to the outside world. Not even my mother sees me this much.
I have known Jeeves since college. My professor turn in one of my term papers to him and he published it in a magazine. I got money, just enough get my place comfy and a car to get around. Since then he's been personally training me to the max to get my work in. Even gave me a full scholarship for 3 degrees. His actual name isn't Jeeves it's Bruce, Bruce Whyans. I think hes hiding something in his basement but just keep telling me he's not Batman. I don't believe is he's smart older in age with a lot of money and his parents died when he was 12. Leaving him with all the means and mobility to run a country but he chose to train me as his Robin, well Robyn. No kidding that's my real name Robyn Drady. No I am not an orphan, but he is definitely Batman.
But anyhow back at the cafe I look up from the computer just long enough to stretch. My long t shirt doesn't seem so long when a brisk hi hits my sketchy stomach. I slap my arms around it around my button. Hurry to tug my shirt back to my waist. I watch for peekers and caught one that hadn't seen around much. I sneer at his ogled eyes and turn back to my work.
It was bright outside so it was easy to see the shadow creep from behind my computer. I look up to that same peeker that sat across the room.
He only looked when he opened his mouth to speak. I interrupted him by saying, "This is not a novel. I don't have a name a number or a friend for you." I figured he would leave maybe I should after thoroughly embarrassing myself it was needed that I leave. He lets my tetris wallet fall on the keys of my laptop. I close my eyes and sigh thinking this can't get any worst. But it could I open my wallet to find my ID missing. I looked up and he had already gone.
Crap.
