This story originally came together years ago after I happened to catch the 2008 movie "Choke" on TV late at night, a film about a sarcastic nymphomaniac stuck in a world of righteousness.
Since I'm a huge fan of Harry Styles, I decided to update my original adaptation with him in mind. I'm mostly fascinated with his transition from goofy, bubbly, funny flirt from his 1D days to his super solemn, dark, and brooding solo career launch. I'm also equally fascinated by stories of stars and their falls from grace, how they navigate the tricky waters of fame and fortune. This story is inspired by that transition -- what happened to Harry if he ventured down the wrong path years after his solo launch. It's not a completely accurate picture of Harry, but a composite of many of those elements.
To note, it doesn't seem that the first half of this story that it's a love story because it starts with heavy smut -- but if you stick with it long enough, you might be pleasantly surprised to see the smut decrease as the love increases. ;)

The movie, albeit a super indie festival darling, was written by the author of Fight Club, and is a dark satirical attempt to humanize people who do things "bad" according to society. Since I'm a huge fan of dark, complicated characters, it really sunk its teeth into me. The story lines don't have much in common for the most part, but the seedling of the story was a jumping off point for this story.
