Chapter 4

Jia's Pov

I'm still speechless for the fact na kasama na siya sa team. Kaya pala nagmamadali siya kanina kasi baka hinahanap na siya sa athletics office. While coach is saying something, pasimple naman akong tumitingin sa kanya. It's still the same. Tumitingin pa rin siya sakin.

Umiwas na naman ako, I felt a little bit uncomfortable with her presence that's why I am very conscious on how I look now. Bakit niya ba kasi ako tinitingnan? May dumi ba sa mukha ko? Panget ba suot ko? Ewan ko ba, bahala na.

"Okay then, let's start. And rookies, show us what you've got" paghamon ni coach sa kanila.

And by that pumwesto na ako sa gitna ng court. I am the main setter. I should act like a veteran and professional here. I put on my dagger look so that they can see na I'm serious during trainings.

Iwinaksi ko muna ang mga iniisip ko tungkol sa kanya. I'll just pretend that she's not around.

Jia, seriously? How would you pretend her being invisible if she's now one of your spikers? Utak ko.

Oo nga naman. Hay Jia! Just be yourself, be the normal you. Don't show her that your tensed and nervous.

The spikers formed one line facing the net and me. Ate Ly throw the ball to me and as usual I set it perfectly to her just like what she wanted.

Napuno naman ng sigawan sa Beg dahil sa lakas ng palo ni Ate Ly. Kaya yan tinatawag na Phenom eh kasi her spikes are amazing.

"Whoo!! Batchmate ko yan! Ginalingan masyado eh" sigaw ni ate Ella.

"Manahimik ka nga Ells, ingay mo" pag-sinta ni Ate Ly sakanya.

Napa-kunot noo naman si Ate Ells.

"Wala man lang bang thank you diyan? Ikaw na nga itong pinuri eh"

Pagkatapos ni Ate Ly, sumunod naman si ate Ella, si Mich, Jho, Kim, and Therese.

Hindi muna pinapalo nina coach si Maddie and Bea dahil mas maganda daw kung sa  middle sila. Yung mga open pa kasi ang nag fe-free spiking. They really do have an advantage cause they are very tall.

When Therese spiked the ball, mukhang satisfied naman ang lahat. She's actually good, although she's a little bit slow when it comes to approaching but maganda naman palo niya.

After nilang mag-spike yung mga middles naman at possible middles na sina Maddie and Bea.

Ate Kiwi tossed me the ball and set it to her quickly, as well as ate Mae. Next is Maddie, I think mas babagay sakanya ang running attack. Wala na kasing masyadong ganyan na ginagawa ang mga middles. Last player na nag ru-running attack sa Ateneo noon is Ate Gretchen.

Binigay niya sakin ang bola, I set it far so she could run for it. Running attack nga diba? She didn't expect it but naabutan naman niya and luckily it was a nice spike.

"Wow Maddie, I didn't know your good at that" Ate Kiwi said.

"Ah, it's all Ate Jia po. Di ko po inexpect na she would set it like that" she shyly pointed out.

Ang cute talaga ng batang ito. Hahahahahaha.

I'm sweating right now, paanong hindi? Siya na kaya ang papalo. Before she tossed the ball, she took a deep breath. I know that she wants to prove something to us. She is really focused right now.

When she tossed me the ball I set it to her with the right amount of force. Yung sakto lang sa height niya. She's really quick, at dahil maganda ang pasok niya at sobrang taas ng talon niya baon na baon ang bola.
