So right now I'm meant to be revising for my history GCSE but obviously I'm procrastinating. Here's a tip.Don't procrastinate.
If your starting in Year 9.
Okay so if your starting in year 9 you want to be taking notes, doing your work and making sure your books are neat.I cannot tell you the struggle I have when I look through my maths book because of how messy it is.
I didn't really care in year 9 and 10 because I just assumed we go over the topics in year 11.Wrong. You don't,most of the time you are still learning all the syllabus to go back over topics.
I made this mistake and now for history(which I'm terrible at) I'm going through everything to learn and remember before my exam (which is tomorrow)and it's not easy (unless you have photographic memory and in that case I'm super jealous of you).
So make sure you keep all your work neat so you can look over it in a few years time.
Starting in year 10
You have even less time to learn everything so teachers will probably not go back through a topic throughout class.
You need to make sure your work is neat and you start going over topics you don't understand because it will become a lot easier when your in year 11.
I didn't start caring until end of year 10 because I thought I was going to be fine.i was wrong.
I'm now constantly learning new things and going up to teachers after lessons asking how to do a specific equation or any question I have.
You need to start caring from the beginning really. Reviewing topics you don't understand.
Both
For any languages make sure you constantly go over different vocabulary and practise pronunciation.I had to re-do my speaking in french because my pronunciation.so get siblings or parents and maybe some friends to help with it.
Anyways! Whichever year your in just make sure you are committed don't procrastinate like I've just been doing for the last 3/4 hours- whoops.....I have a history exam tomorrow....
