Chapter 10

Ashely's POV

After Joseph left I couldn't help but be infuriated by his nonsense. All that he has put me through and he expects me to give my child to him. I could never just give up my child like that. Especially to a man like that.

Grabbing my stuff, I proceeded to close the boutique and wait for Rosa to come pick me up.

But having the luck I have, of course Joseph would be there leaning on a car as if he's been waiting for me.

"Get in the car Ashley.", He demanded.

Here we go again with these unrealistic demands. I couldn't stand the man, there was no way I would enter his car. So, I looked at him then began my walk down the street. I'd tell Rosa to pick me up there.

"Ashley stop walking and get in the damn car."

I kept walking as if I hadn't heard him. What did he expect, for me to stop and get in the car?

I suddenly heard foot steps behind me. I guess he decided to follow me. Wouldn't change anything, I still wasn't going to get into the car.

"Damn it Ashley I'm done playing games with you.", he roughly pulled my arm from behind me. "You are going to get in the car whether you walk or I drag you."

"Let go of me Joseph." I yelled, "Your hurting me."

"Joseph stop. Let go of my arm."

" I'm pretty sure she just told you to let go of her arm and I suggest you do it before I do it for you.", said a man I've never seen before.

"Why don't you just mind your own business pal.", Joseph muttered. "I'm just trying to get my wife home."

"Ex-wife, now let me go Joseph."

"How about I give you 2 seconds to get your filthy hands off this beautiful woman before I break them off.", He said with a smirk.

Beautiful? Me? This gorgeous, 6'4 man called me beautiful. If we weren't in this current situation I would be flattered.

"Who do you-",

"1.", the man began to count.

"Fine, but this isn't over Ashley. I'll see you to discuss this tomorrow and you will take me seriously.", he said releasing my arm and entering his car.

I rubbed my arm and turned to look at the man who helped me with Joseph.

"Thank you.", I said with a smile.

"Anytime, I'm Aaron.", he said holding out his hand for me.

"I'm Ashley, as you must've heard.", shaking his hand back.

"Although we've just met and not in good circumstances, would you like to go out to breakfast or lunch sometime with me?", he said with hopeful eyes.

As much as I wanted to say yes, I couldn't. I already had so much going on in my life that I couldn't just add more onto it. I had to get my priorities straight before I could start dating again.

"I honestly want to say yes but I can't. I'm sorry. I just have a lot going on and I need to get them set before I can do things like that again.", I spoke with a small smile.

"I understand but trust me when I say this, your a beautiful woman Ashley so give me a call or shoot me a text when you've set everything straight.", He smiled while handing me a paper with his number on it.

"Trust me when I say this, I will.", I couldn't help but smile.

As soon as I said that Rosa pulled up and I began my walk to the car before turning around and waving at Aaron.

"Who was that? He's sure a cutie." Rosa said with a smile.

I couldn't help but nod my head to agree with her. Aaron was surely a cutie.
