"we got another one!" jackson called through the doorway before slamming it, causing mark, who was peacefully reading some required book, to jump three feet in the air and glare at him.
"how do they not know by now that they've got the address wrong?" mark's question was mainly directed at himself as jackson plopped down onto the couch next to him, pulling out the pocket knife he'd bought for the sole purpose of being able to open these surprise-cakes on a moment's notice.
"i'm sorry i threw a rock through your window and lied about it when you took too long to open the door " was written over an army green surface in gray frosting that matched the rock nestled in high grass that wrapped around the sides of the rectangular cake.
"mark, stop being such a worry wart," jackson scolded, grabbing a knife they'd been too lazy to put in the sink off the coffee table, cutting two slices. "when life gives you cake, you eat it."
mark sighed, wondering why he was still disappointed in his friend and himself.
"now scooch your fat ass over; i wanna watch hannah montana."
