It's the Yyldr Cloud Gathering. It rains way too much here, but that's why we get the best harvest each year. Sometime soon, I'll be heading out for deployment, and that means being away from you, sister. Averlynn, you are my little sister, and I need you to be safe. I hope that mother will be back home. She's been fighting in the war longer than I've been a Royal Militant Guard. Well, let me tell you about my day, sister.
First, when I woke up for formation, I ended up hitting my head on the ceiling. It kind of hurt, but it woke me up pretty fast. Then, my commander, Captain Walsh, walked in just as I was about to shine my sword, and he asked for five guys for a special operation. I volunteered, and I was instantly pulled into a fast-paced patrol outside Isotek. As we trotted along, a beast came out of the forest, swiping a soldier off his feet. We had no idea what it was. It was slender, but incredibly built. Its back was lined with spines and bones jutting from the top. The skin was black and rubbery-looking. Its arms were huge, and carried three large talons on what seemed to be fingers. It looked at me and swung, but I parried with ease. A second blow was given to me, and the talon grazed my helmet with a metallic scrape. Then, Captain Walsh leaped on its back, grabbing its spines, and started beating the back of the beast's head in with a mace.
In a daze, I got up, feeling blood tricking down my face. The beast had struck me, but I am fine, only a small cut on my eyebrow. Captain Walsh immediately got me to the hospital, where they treated my wounds. I asked Captain Walsh what that was, and he did not answer. He only signed a paper and they sent me away.
Well, the night is coming to a close, and I will have to get to a briefing tomorrow, which means I need plenty of sleep. I love you sister! Remember to tell Bruuk to stay away from the carrots in our garden, I need a yummy Carrikot Soup to come back to when I get home!

Days whizzed by, and now I'm back on track again. I miss you, Averlynn. I truly do. Sometime next month, I'm getting deployed in Ku'Rigaan, far south. But, my orders had changed for some reason, and now I'm going into a new company, led by a mysterious and strange officer named Captain Tobi. I've never heard of him, or even knew the STRPDs existed. It's a strange military, I'll tell you.

I finally met Captain Tobi. He is a tall man, and extremely war-torn, literally. He has scars of claws and swords alike on his face and arms. He's probably seen a lot of combat in his days. His eyes were piercing ice blue, and his hair was white as snow, with a shade of gray in it. His hair was long, too, and covered most of his shoulder guards. He was missing one eye, with a horrible scar raking over and past the rims of the eyepatch. His armor was thin and sparse, but it seemed like it protected him. The armor has a low glow to it, it had to be enchanted. His gauntlets were red, either with cold caked blood or the natural color, I could not tell. His voice was deep, very deep. Almost demonic deep, but he was just a regular human. Demon Hybrids died out long ago, that's what mother had told us. Captain Tobi asked me a lot of odd questions, such as Have you seen a Dyachill, or a Werewolf? Or even weirder, Do you have any supernatural powers? He kind of scares me, I think he's been in too long. Well, I must go to sleep in my new barracks, hopefully I'll be back by Pechilla, I need to give you a special present!
