earl grey

she watched the boy.
he was completely unaware of her staring at him.
his steely grey eyes and messy dark hair reminded her of twilight at the beach.
oh how the ocean called to her.
but one must work for college
adulthood
beach towels.
she sighed and laid her head down right as the disinterested family trotted out of the store.
grumbling about the lack of interesting money scams.
what a naive bunch.
the boy once again watched her.
she took in a sharp breath as she once again
saw his grey eyes.
they trapped her
steam seemed to fog up her thinking.
he reminded her of earl grey tea.
misty and dull,
like the shore at dawn.
yet he shone brighter than the sun
she would like the beach with him.
