"yo, gabe! wanna ditch this hour and smoke in the bathroom?"
a cunning smile and short sleeves nudged me on the shoulder. 

"i'm not your 'yo,' you idiot." meeting eyes with shawn, i was only met with sparkling irises and a toothy grin. biting my lip, it became gradually harder to not smile when he was. 

"it's a yes or no, 'idiot.' i mean you can totally be a good boy and go to class. or, you can be badass, and come join me in the restroom!" he led me on with every word. but, i was already too far gone to be led on far enough. 

"don't tell me to join you in the bathroom. it sounds nasty like that." sticking his tongue out merely to taunt me after i made the statement, i couldn't help but feeling a blush sink onto my cheeks. adjusting the collar of my hoodie, i wiped away the little sweat collecting on my forehead. 

"it's only nasty if you want it to be," shawn threw me a wink and before i could even register that, he was already walking away. and he was dead set towards the bathroom. 

shit.

the choices taunted me. 

be a good boy.
the boy my mom raised me to be.

or possibly get cancer from smoking.
mom wouldn't really be happy if i did.

shawn's steps never stopped or slowed, making my anxiety worse.
hell, he was already at the bathroom door before i made my decision on what to do.
time doesn't move in slow motion.

between all of the other kids walking through the busy crowd
and shawn already opening the bathroom door, i scoffed to myself. 

damn me and my gay feelings. 

running through the hall, i reached the bathroom as soon a bell rang.
a bell that signified that class was to begin soon.
slipping into the bathroom,
i pushed back the scary thoughts of my mom yelling at me for skipping a class. 

here's to hoping i don't get caught smoking in the bathroom
so i can just hang out with my crush.
