I wonder why girls run to try on makeup
To do what with it ?
To cover up their faces with gunk
To hide their scars and brusies
From the popular girl who wears it to cover up the acne and imperfections
To the girl who just wants to hide those scars and brusies from everyone else
To the girl who's friends tell her she'll be prettier if she wears it
To the girl who just wants to be beautiful
And then to the girl who's just confused
So someone tell me why we all reach to cover the mess this world has made of us
Because if it's for someone's approval that isn't a good enough reason
