It was seemingly a normal, boring day, I just got out the bar I was performing at. It wasn't the most fancy place, with all of its furniture being so old I'd probably be scared to touch them the first time I saw them, the floor was at least a bit dirty all the time and windows were always closed as if to let people know it's not the best place to visit if you're not familiar with the staff. I'm not the complaining type, but as soon as my old sneakers touched the ground I mutter under my breath. "Stupid rain. Why does it always rain when I don't have literally anything rainproof on me?!" I sighed in annoyance as I had no other choice but to walk to the nearest bus stop.
I passed by a few shops, most of them closed and shut tightly with multiple locks. Their smell was also very iron-like, almost bloody. Maybe they want to scare thieves away? I don't blame them I would probably do the same if I had a shop here. As my feet were making sloppy noises with my every step I looked at my wrist watch. "3:30 huh?" I mumbled as I searched for the arrival time of the next bus. "3:34 I guess I'm lucky." I said in relief as I stood under the shelter of the bus stop, it wasn't very helpful since water was leaking through it and the wind still managed to blow the rain straight onto my face.
After a few minutes of waiting the bus arrived, funny enough it was on time as well. I was a bit surprised but I signalled the driver that I want to get on the bus and as the stopped I did just that, scanned my bus card and sat down, I looked outside the window. What my eyes were greeted with were distant lights of the centre of Seoul and detached houses and small shops of the downtown. I enjoy living in the lively parts of Seoul, but I definitely was missing my life back in the more quiet neighbourhoods, after all I was the one who needed someone else's voice to speak for me.
'Don't stay quiet Jihoon, or the noise will consume you.'
That's what my mother always says, I think I should pay her a visit sometime soon. As I was lost in thought I realised I was getting close to my stop so I quickly stood up pressed the button and as we arrived I got out of the bus. Thankfully it stopped raining and I was quite happy since my shoes started to slowly dry while I was on the bus.
I stretched my arms and lazily walked up to the apartment building I live in. I took my keys out opened the heavy glass door. I put my hand in my pocket as I called the elevator. It took weirdly long for it to arrive, but I shrugged it off, went in and pressed the obvious and huge button with the number 10 engraved on it.
"Home, sweet home. Or should I say: Bed, sweet bed." I said as I quickly entered my flat, closing the door behind me. If I had the energy I'd have probably ran to my bedroom, but I didn't so I slowly reached my room and gasped at the beautiful image of my bed right before my eyes. As soon as I put down my guitar as well as my bag and changed into my pyjamas or more accurately I just took off my shoes and pants, I flopped down on my bed and closed my eyes.
