The Only Reason

Chapter 3

Today is the day! 

Yan ang unang pumasok sa aking isip pagkamulat ng aking mga mata. May sumilay na ngiti sa aking mga labi nang maisip na ngayon nga kami mag kikita ni Lance dito sa bahay para ma-tutor niya ako sa Physics.

Umupo ako sa aking kama saka hinawi ang kurtina ng aking kwarto. Sumilay ang liwanag mula sa araw. Mukhang maganda ang araw ngayon! Dumiretso ako sa banyo para makapag-ayos na ng sarili. After taking a bath, I faced my vanity mirror and put on some lip tint on my lips and cheeks to give my face some color. I only applied light make-up to make sure that I looked fresh. 

I looked at my full lenght mirror and smiled. I was wearing a striped crop top matched with a denim shorts.

I opened my phone and texted Lance asking him what time will he be here. My  phone beeped and I excitedly opened the message. Unfortunately, It was a message from Alys. 

"Do you want to go to the mall?" She asked

I bit my lip and stared at her message. I really want to go but I didn't want to miss this moment with Lance! I declined Alys' offer and waited for  Lance's reply. 

Habang nag-aantay, nilibang ko ang sarili ko sa pag lalaro sa aking phone o kaya mag-open ng aking mga accounts sa social media. Nakanood na din ako ng isang episode ng isang korean drama kakahintay at naka-idlip.

Mahaba ang pasensya ko bilang tao. Kaya ko mag hintay ng matagal para sa isang tao o kaya ng food delivery pero kung tipong limang oras na akong nag-aantay at wala pa rin nangyayari, aba! doon na ns-uubos ang aking pasensya!

I frowned and texted him again. 

"Hi Lance! tuloy pa ba tutor?" 

Sent!

My phone immediately rang after I sent the message. Lance's name appeared in my phone! I immediately pressed the answer button. 

"Hello?" I asked through the line

"Rhea." he said almost sounding breathless. I bit my lips when I heard him call my name.

"Yes?"

"I'm sorry, I forgot about our tutor session. I can't come today. There was a family emergency." My smile suddenly dropped.

"Ah! kaya pala..." I tried to hide the disappointment in my tone but I failed miserably

"I'm really sorry. Maybe next time?" He said reassuringly 

"I'ts okay. Next time na lang." I replied and ended the call immediately.

Napatulala ako sa aking kwarto. Ayan tuloy, na-bati.

I groaned as my thoughts flooded my head. Dapat talaga di na ako nag-expect. I wouldn't be this disappointed if I just lowered my expectations. Besides, we're not close to begin with.

Monday came and I couldn't shake away the dreadful weekend I had. What did you expect! Tutor session lang naman! I pursed my lips.

Papasok pa lang ako sa school ng makita ko siya. I groaned and I immediately turned around. I can't face him! I feel embarrassed! Sa likod na lang ako ng building papasok!
