"I got them." She stated, focusing intently on the area of the party above her. Roy and Riley quickly joined her and listened in. The static filled conversation was guided by a overprotective misleading dialogue that had originally caught Thea's attention, letting Riley know they had their target. The men above spoke about the status of the project in question, the HIVE representative clearly needing to know whether or not it was ready. The classic stalling tactics and potential to drive up the price of the final product went by as Riley expected, all too familiar with how these sort of negotiations went down. Finally an agreement was reached and the promised project was produced as requested as well as the assurance that it was 100% operational and adaptable to any source.
"What'd we do now? We can't figure out what they're planning unless we get eyes on that thing." Roy nervously stated, eager to accomplish the mission. Riley calmly returned his listening device to his backpack and pulled out a more modern device that was extremely familiar to the others.
"Is that a," Thea began as she inspected the device.
"T-Sphere? Yeah. I borrowed it. You might wanna get ready for company." Riley interupted as he prepped the device to copy all the data in the area above. Thankfully Felicity had fine tuned Curtis's design, allowing the device to create complete digital copies of any electronic signatures in an immediate area as long as the data in question wasn't too well protected. Thea and Roy both peppered their gear and awaited the inevitable assault. Riley activated the device and was able to copy the HIVE data within a few moments, unfortunately alerting the threats above of their presence.
"Got it." Riley exclaimed as he retrieved his sidearm from his waist.
"Now what?" Roy asked, hoping for an actual escape plan. The sudden motion of multiple enemies entering the room caught the team's attention as they moved for cover. Gunfire quickly engulfed the area, shredding the nearby desks and furniture.
"Now what Riley?!" Roy repeated over the loud blare of gunfire.
"Hadn't thought this far ahead actually." Riley replied as he returned fire and stayed low. Thea rolled her eyes and readied a flashbang arrow to her compact bow, knowing the odds were against them. With a quick burst of energy, Thea, rolled out of cover and fired toward the attacking force. The deafening blast momentarily halted the gaurds from attacking as they scrambled for cover or simply tried to keep their composure. The brief pause gave the team enough time to attack, knowing that if they didn't move fast they would be taken by force and numbers. Roy charged along the side of the room, snapping arrows to his compact bow as he switched targets on the move. His arrows struck gaurds in the shoulders mostly, knocking them to the ground in agony. Thea kept low and rolled from cover to cover as the group of enemies near her began to press for an attack, in hopes of flushing her from protection. Their controlled gunfire was meant to push Thea, the men knew they weren't going to hit the agile target but they could at least push her into a kill zone. The table beside Thea splinter from the bullets striking it as she pulled two arrows to her bow and laid flat on the ground. The small opening under the desk wasn't ideal for this type of shot, but Thea felt confident in her abilities. Her compact bow however wasn't exactly field tested, and it might not react as she planned when it fired two arrows simultaneously. The weapon was perfect for concealment even without the folding feature that Oliver's bow had, but the small amount of space on the bow worried Thea. The shuffle of boots a few feet ahead of her pushed aside her concerns for the weapon as she locked onto her target and fired, releasing the arrows under the desk and into two gaurds' shins. The men quickly recoiled in pain, reaching for their wounds as they collapsed to the floor. A barrage of bullets followed the attack, forcing Thea to cover herself as best she could for protection. She spotted movement beside the group of gaurds and watched as Riley charged into battle. He jumped over a table while engaging the enemy at the same time, clipping one man in the upper chest and catching the others attention. Riley quickly shifted his assault as the remaining guards turned toward him and opened fire, ripping apart the surrounding office furniture and equipment. Shreds of paper and small chunks of debris filled the air as Riley dove under the desk ahead of him, disappearing from sight. Within a split second he reemerged from the other side of the desk, sliding in between two gaurds and simultaneously kicking both of them in the lower leg. The powerful strikes most likely broke at least one man's leg just below the knee, while only forcing the other man to the ground. Riley used his momentum to jump out of his slide and back to his feet, where he turned and finished off the injured gaurd with a well placed shot. A lone man jumped up behind Riley and raised his weapon, only to receive an arrow to his shoulder. Riley snapped around to see Thea standing with her bow still drawn.
