Capture The Flag

"All packed and ready to go?" The bus driver asked.

"Ready!" Everyone said excited to go. This was a 7th grade camp with the teachers as the people who worked at camp. The counselors are gonna be cooking on a grill for us. As we arrived I saw tents were already set up. Oh no, it's gonna be cold tonight... I thought in my head.

My name is Aurora and this is the story of how my best friend and I fell in love with two boys at camp.

We had put our stuff away and it was dinner time. I was really looking forward to eating hot dogs cooked from a grill. I don't really like the way the burgers look but the hot dogs always taste good whenever I have them. There were chips set out and fruit. I sat down at a bench. I couldn't find any other spot where we could be alone so I just chose this one.

"Hey Aurora do you think there will be a scavenger hunt?" Haley asked.

"I don't know. I read in some books that people do scavenger hunts for fun." I replied. I was sure that we would, it would be fun.

"Okay everyone finish your dinner. We are going to play Capture The Flag." Ms. Fincher said. Well this will be fun. It's not a Scavenger Hunt but this will be better and more fun. Soon everyone had enough to eat.

"I heard that desserts will be served after the game." I told Haley.

"Well it's just a game." She replied. We were set into different groups by Mr. Thomas.

He put us into separate groups with that 1, 2 thing that I don't get. The night sky's stars shined brighter than I have seen before. Maybe it's just because I haven't seen the stars for a while. Even the full moon was shining bright. The people I got on my team were Jimmy, Felicity, Nolan, Vorock, Nathan, Ana, Thalia and Josie. The people on the other team were Haley, Nate, Carlos, Danny, Randy, Sebastian, Sammy, and Anthony. Wow. They got good people.

"Don't worry guys we'll beat them." I told my team as we huddled together.

"Everyone don't turn your flashlight on and if someone with their flashlight on comes from the other team hide behind a tree trunk or in a pile of leaves." Felicity said. I have to say that was a smart plan. So we know that only the other team will have their flashlights on. This will be fun but we still got time before the game.

Flash, run, flash again. Lights were hitting on us like crazy. The other team is really good and have better luck there were leaves everywhere on our side and only huge tree trunks on the other side. I'm gonna go sneak up on Haley, She's here! Felicity was just a couple trees away motioning me to get out of here. I gave a pouty face but did what she said because she's smarter than me. I ran off with no one chasing after me. Wow that was too easy but no time to think about that now. Where should I look and hide at the same time? I looked around me and saw Nathan and Ana around a tree with Nolan just a couple trees away. I came to Nathan and Ana.

"Good hiding spot guys. I just passed Felicity. She's chasing off Haley." They started to laugh at the way I said that. I was glad I found a couple people on my team which gave me confidence and it also made me less scared. "I see some flashlights up ahead." Nathan pointed out whispering. I looked straight ahead and certainly there were lights. I sat down and tried to blend in with the leaves.

"Guys do the same or they'll find us. Look there's the flag." I said and in an instant they both saw the flag and did what I was doing. I was scared because we almost got caught by Danny. He thought it was just his imagination. Looks like he shouldn't have thought out loud. I got up now that he was gone and so did Nathan and Ana.

"You guys stay here I'm gonna go to the other team and try to find their flag." I told them They both nodded as I ran to the other team trying my best not to make a sound. I kept toward the lights knowing if I can hide from them I can find their flag. I saw their white flag. It was on a high tree branch.

I think I can get it but I'm small and there are too many flashlights. Well I'm gonna take the risk. I got to the tree but I failed. Haley had took the chance and hit me with the flashlight. I ran to Nathan who had Felicity with him. "I found their flag but I got caught. Is Ana still guarding the flag?" I asked. "Yeah she also has Jimmy with her." Nathan said. I nodded my head in understanding and led them to where the flag was. "Be careful. These people are the fastest on the team but I'm sure we're faster." I said. We were hiding behind a tree now because a lot of flashlights were on and searching around. This is the most fun I've ever had with my friends except Haley's on the other team working like a man.

Thump! Felicity, Nathan and I had all fell to the ground trying to get the flag. But it doesn't matter no one was around. Zoom! Just as we got up, Haley and Sebastian ran by Haley holding the flag. "What! How did you get it I thought Ana was guarding it." I said angrily at Haley and Sebastian, who were high - fiving each other and their team mates. "Easy" Haley said, "I just made a bush look like 2 people going for the flag, a distant away Ana went to get them." "Lucky for us" Sebastian said "Carlos and Anthony were hiding behind it." They stopped talking because the rest explains itself.
