Did you ever wonder where her bruises came from?
Did you ever wonder why her smile faded?
Did you ever see the sorrow in her eyes?
And did you ever notice her voice as it slowly disappeared?
Did you even care when she stopped coming to lunch?
Did you ever question why she let her grades drop?
Did you ever pay attention to the healing scars on her wrists, or the fresh ones on her sides?
And how she wore big sweatshirts as if to cover up and hide?
Did you ever stop and think about why she doesn't come to class?
And did you ever worry when she stopped coming to school altogether?
Did you ever ask why when you meet her at the local drugstore?
Do you even remember the cheerful girl she used to be?
Didn't you see it coming, you knew what she'd do next?
Did you ever think to stop her?
Did you care enough to try?
Did you never stop to help her even when she cried?
And did you start to panic when she disappeared from your life?
Did you listen to the assembly the next day?
Did you hear about how she took her life?
Do you even remember your friend who committed suicide?
