"It's all your fault."
Those words made a huge impact on my small body. Those words made my eyes glassy and watery, as if it were like water filling up my eyes and the glass of my eyes are trying to hold the tears back, but such a delicate thing could not be able to supress something strong like water. Those words also shattered my small heart into tiny pieces, it'd seem impossible to mend it back to its perfect unharmed self.
I can't bear to look up and see his face. The last time I saw his face I was cheerful, filled with laughter. I thought everything was alright but obviously, I'm wrong.
He starts to talk again.
"You're probably wondering why I'm saying this. I guess it isn't entirely your fault but you do play a big factor in it." He pauses and takes a deep breath.
"You know how your sister and I told you everything about your mother. How she was the most beautiful woman ever and how that smile of hers could lighten your mood so quickly. How she was a caring soul, gave your sister and I so much happiness. Well when we found out she was with child she became an even happier person. Her mood became contagious and we ended up just as happy as her. But that one fateful night. She gave in all her strength so you could have the chance to live. But shortly after you were born, she had gone weary and well... took her last breath."
As he said that the glass that tried to hold my tears back had finally broke.
"My child, I know something like this shouldn't be happening to you. I tried to raise you and your sister on my own. I tried to force a smile every day. I tried to give you the life your mother would have wanted you to have, but I can't hide my struggles forever. Your sister is old enough to help you, and I don't want you to see me after knowing the truth about how I feel. I'm leaving. "
I see him pick up his luggage.
"I know this may seem irrational but it's just... if you hadn't of been born my dear wife would still be here today, and our family wouldn't have to go through so much pain."
I clench my fist, still staring at the floor.
"Goodbye viola."
And with that I hear the footsteps of my father fade away.

After that I started to walk along the ruins of Rome.
Its 1698 and it had recently been the fall of the house of Borgia's. My family isn't rich at all. We are considered as those who have enough for a good life. So much has happened in Rome, and apparently if it weren't for the hooded figures, Rome would be no more. I always wondered what people meant by hooded figures, I'd ask but they wouldn't say much. Even though a lot has happened here I do like the ruins around here. Whenever I got the chance I would always go here and go through my thoughts and enjoy the scenery. It's like an adventure and you discover something new every day. As I walk across a broken pillar I hear someone calling my name.
"Viola!"
I turn around to see my sister, Catarina.
I stop walking and go back to staring at the floor. I hear her footsteps become louder and louder, then I feel two gentle hands rest on my shoulders.
"Viola! I've been looking for you everywhere, don't go somewhere without telling me!" She's angry.
There's an unwanted silence between us. Catarina tries to break it.
"I see you're still sad about what happened earlier ago. Who'd blame you, I'd be destroyed if that happened to me."
I clench my fist when she says that. It reminded me that all this time she was the perfect, favourable child. The one who didn't cause devastation on this family. She realises I'm hurt by her comment.
"I'm sorry."
There's another silence.
"Hey, I know how to make you happy. You remember how we all loved to dance, it made us happy especially mother. Well maybe you should start dancing, you might like as well. And who knows maybe it could help you feel better whenever your sad."
"I don't know how to dance." As I say that my voice sounds like a hoarse whisper. It hurts.
I see her hand reach for my chin and slowly lifts it up, making me face her.
"I know this is rough, and our lives will be rough for a very long time, but I promise you I will do everything I can to give you the life you deserve."
I feel my mouth tug into a small smile, and the fragments of my heart start to slowly mend themselves.
Then Catarina's hands reach my hands, and we end up in a stance. She then smiles and slowly teaches me to dance. And at that moment I knew I had found a new love, dancing. And from that moment on my life had changed.

Hope you like it, if there is anyone reading this. Anyway, if anyone is reading this, it'd be much appreciated if you give me any criticism about this story. Also, you're probably wondering why is it that the title of this story say 'Luna's life' when the main characters name is obviously viola. Trust me it will make sense as the story goes on, you'll just have to wait 😊
